Allergy relief while preggers??

I am miserable right now... I normally have allergies in the spring. We have a lot of smoke in the air from fires and I think that's what is causing it. I'm taking Zyrtec, using saline wash to clean out my sinuses multiple times a day and using eye drops. Nothing is working... Any recommendations?? I read apple cider vinegar can help, so I'm drinking some in my water.. Please help this momma! TIA

  • Neilmed Sinus Rinse. Don't get the spray; get the rinse. I worked for them for about two years back in the day, and it's an amazing product.

  • My OB prescribed me Flonase, but I was too scared to take it.

  • Benadryl is safe too. I have year round allergies, but they're relatively well controlled with Zyrtec (and Singulair, but that's mainly for my asthma).

  • Benadryl didn't help either.. :(@jillyjill1026sr I looked it up, what makes it different from other saline rinses? Normally saline rinses help a lot, but it's not at the moment..

  • It's pH balanced to the same salinity of your body, so it helps to break up the mucus and relieve the pressure better. Also, the bottle he designed lets a higher volume of water into your passages. If you're really clogged up, you can double up on the packets.

You're welcome. I hope you feel better!
  • My OB also prescribed Flonase when I was pregnant with dd2.

  • Try Claritin instead of Zyrtec...  Both just knocked me right on my butt though...  If they'll allow (confirm on the baby care line number) Benadryl since you're having a lot of swelling, go for that too!

Flonase was a no-go while I  was PG, so surprising they allow it now.  Same went for Allegra & Singulair (Both the only ones that work GREAT for me!)..

Do the best you can to stay inside in filtered air.  Change the filter on your AC if you haven't done that lately, get the ducts cleaned in the house if that hasn't been done lately too...
