Hello everyone,
I don't think I've ever posted on here so I apologize for popping in unannounced! I am 16 weeks along with my second baby. I am planning a natural birth at a birth center and so excited about my experience there. I am joining a centering pregnancy group which will meet for the first time in September. I was just curious if anyone had/has any experience with this and how they like(d) it? Thanks!

Basically, I will have my prenatal visits up to 36 weeks with a group of women due the same month as me. We check our own urine samples, take our own blood pressure, etc. Then we all sit together while we get our belly/baby's heartbeat checked and talk about concerns and other things as a group. We will have a different midwife lead the group each visit and we'll discuss whatever topics our groups wants to that will prepare us for delivery (like a condensed birth class session). I think the overall goal is to allow us to feel in charge and involved with the process of pregnancy as well as give us a place to communicate with other moms.
