I just found out I'm pregnant a couple of weeks ago. I'm considering water birth. Looking for a hospital in the Dayton area. Has anyone done this and what hospital did you use?
I gave birth at Miami Valley and loved it! I was all set for a water birth in Family Beginnings, the hospital's amazing natural birth center, but had some complications and my OB wanted me on continuous monitoring. The birth center has huge whirlpool tubs
Southview, which is a kettering health network hospital right by the Dayton Mall does water births. We ended up having a c-section at Kettering Hospital in kettering, but Southview was my second choice. My doctor is Drollinger, and hes AMAZING, I know he
Awesome. My ob is Dr. Pachiano. I will probably be going to Southview or Miami Valley South. My doctor said I could labor in water but she requested I not deliver in water since this is my first. She said it's easier for her when it's a first time mother.
My ob is Dr Dorsey, and im currently looking for a new doc all together. Neither of them support natural birth and will try to steer you in their direction purely for thier own convienence. I highly suggest checking out family beginnings! We start our classes aug 18th and its free to sign up and take a tour and do orientation! Lots of my friends have delivered their and have nothing but wonderful things to say about the experience! The midwives are fantastic and the facility is wonderful, each room has a huge jacuzzi like tub for water births. congrats on your little one!!!
My ob is Dr. Day in Middletown/Springboro. I delivered at Southview and had a great experience.
My doctor didn't support a full water birth, but they do offer hydro therapy tubs in a lot of their rooms. I was able to do water labor for 45 mins out of each hour, so they could check his heart rate once an hour. I ended up wanting to be out of the water more anyway, it was just easier on me personally for laboring. Good luck!
I went to Miami Valley for Family Beginnings also but ended up in L&D because of complications but the birthing pool they set up in the room was great. And I totally second the recommendation for Horlacher, Wood, & Kidd. I saw Kidd the most throughout my appointments and loved her. Wood ended up delivering my DD and I'm so grateful. He was fantastic!!!
