I call my MIL 'ma' and my FIL 'dad'. I am seriously the only person I know who does this, I know it's kind of old school. But just curious what everyone else calls their ILs?
I really akwardly try to avoid calling them anything because mil wants me to call her mom and it is akward coming out of my mouth. If I have to call them something I call them by their first names now.
How long have you been married? That seems like a difficult thing to keep up!
First names, but it took me a really long time to be comfortable with that. Mostly because I knew them in highschool and they were Mr/Mrs LastName to me growing up.
to their faces? first names. their other DIL does the same.
::snicker:: to their faces....lol. Curious, what do you call them behind their backs? I've been favoring dildo headed douche face as of recent...
ha ha. nothing too bad, but if someone's pissed me off recently i'll just have that tone w/ my husband, like "have you talked to yourrr motherrrrrrr?" or if he's the one pissing me off i've told him he's acting like her. bad, i know. but he knows exactly what i mean so there must be some truth to it
Nothing, lol.
Now that DD is here I call them GG and papa. That's what DD calls them. Before I don't think I ever had to call them anything. I would just start talking.
I call them by their first names. My DH calls my parents Mr. and Mrs (Last Name). I have told him so many times to just call them by their first names but he hasn't and never will lol.

First names. But they sign cards and things Mom R and Dad R. (R for last name) I kind of think it's weird since I never called them Mom and Dad. Whatever. My maiden name started with an N and now my own mom has started signing things Mom and Dad N after seeing something from the in-laws!! Crazy people.
ETA: Most often they are Mimi and Papa and Mamaw and Papaw now.
Occasionally if I'm talking to someone and the relationship between us is important to the context I will call FIL my dad. I don't think I've done that with my MIL though. So I would say "Oh, I called dad to come over and help me with X." I'm closer to him than MIL though (plus, I'm closer to my mother than my father).
Don "first name" and Doña "first name". Only because I was brought up to address all of my elders in such form. It's the Spanish equivalent to Mr and Mrs, used to indicate respect.
Mom and Dad. It's what my parents called their in-laws and it's just normal for me. My husband calls my parents mom and dad too. I tried calling them first names. It just felt weird. Mom and dad is much less weird.

I mix it up. Mom and Dad in English (sometimes) or Mom and Dad in Vietnamese, but the pronunciation harder for me. Or just Ong and Ba (which is grandpa and grandma). Usually, I'll just start talking. My husband calls my parents by their first names.

By their first names. They're pretty laid back, easy to please, low key people.
Even my inlaws find the Mom/Dad thing weird to them. They're always like, "I love you, but all the inlaws have parents of their own." Ha.
First names here too. But they are also called by their grandparents name when we are talking with little man
my husband also calls my parents by their first names
This! Glad I'm not the only one!
So, they could be ms. Susan and mr. Bob? Hmm...interesting!
