For real, Baby's R Us?

Last week I went and bought the Baby Einstein Jumperoo from Baby's R Us.  Yesterday my husband opened the box to put it together and it's used!  Parts just thrown in the box, no manual, stickers ripped off, paint chipped in places where it snaps together, dirty.  It seriously looks like someone glued the box shut and tried to return it as if they never opened it.   I called the store and they were surprised and said they will of course exchange it.  It's so sad that someone would feel the need to do something like that.

  • I secretly think the store does it! Two items I got from them were like that!!! One was a gift ordered online and shipped to my house!

  • I'm so glad they are taking it back -- PP, chances are the store does NOT do that -- more often than not with returns, the retailer returns to vendor anyway and get a credit.  The store should have checked it though before putting it on the floor.  Glad they are taking it back - I would actually say this is a "really, parents!?" situation rather than a "really, BRU!?"

    I had the same experience last week! I went and bought him a jumperoo. Open the box and the directions are missing. I say, "no big deal, I'll just get them offline!" I find the directions online and the seat to the jumperoo is missing! I take it back to exchange only to find out someone took the parts they needed and packaged it back up. I was highly irritated because here I am hauling my LO back and forth to the store. They are famous for that!

  • So I went and returned it today.  They didn't give me any trouble but it was so bizarre because they didn't apologize or even act surprised.  They were just like "oh ok go get a new one."  I'm sorry but it's totally weird to sell a completely dirty and used jumperoo.  It makes me think this happens all the time.
  • I hate BRU. BBB has way better selection and service.

    BBB has same shit more expensive..not that I'm a fan of BRU either

    Ditto! And the store people not acting surprised? So what? They get returns all the time. They just deal with it.

    TTC since May 2006. After 3 failed Clomid cycles, 2 failed Injectibles/IUIs, 2 failed IVFs and 1 failed FET, we moved on to adoption!
