overnight diapering

we typically CD 100% of the time but are going on vacation without easy access to laundry so will be using disposables for a week. just bought some 7th generation diapers; do i need to purchase special overnight diapers as well? i do NOT want to be dealing with leaks...son usually goes from around 7:30pm-5:30am without a diaper change, then wakes to eat so we change him too. thanks!

    I don't think you'll have a problem. My little guy goes about the same length of time without a change and we never have leaks. I use Pampers, but not an overnight kind.

    You might want to try them out overnight before you go on vacation.  Some brands leak more than others, and it also depends on the diaper size.  DS sleeps from 7 pm to 7 am without a diaper change.  We use Honest diapers but they started to leak overnight because DS was in between sizes, so we started using Bambo diapers (LOVE them).  We've used Pampers (regular size) and Earth's Best (one size up) with no problem, but CVS brand and Huggies have leaked.  I haven't tried 7th Generation but I would do a test run first.  Good luck!

    You could also put a cloth diaper cover over the disposable and that might help contain any small leaks that might occur!

    This is what we do. Charlie Banana cover over her Huggies at night. She sleeps from 6:30-6:30 and we're all good in the morning. Sometimes there are little damp spots on the CB cover but at least it doesn't get on her jammies or wake her up.

    thanks everyone. we're actually leaving for vacation tomorrow so he's in a disposable tonight...we will see how it goes ; ) my husband had suggested using a PUL cover over the disposable so we will definitely try that if needed. i'm just having a hard time believing that a disposable will hold *anything*--i'm so used to my son's big fluffy bum!!
