Re: judgement day!

  • I judge people who don't spell out words in their text messages. I mean how hard is it to type out the word "to" versus using the number instead? No one is THAT busy.

I also judge people who take FOREVER to respond back to an email or text message. Dude, I know you have your phone at arms length most of the day. Dont give me that bs that you were "too busy to respond" when I am sure you were definitely making time to check your fb feed.

I'm judging this woman I saw walking to work today.  She was busting out of the dress she was wearing, and looked like she was going to fall off her 3 inch heels.

First of all, just because it zips, doesn't mean it fits.

Second, you should not dress like a prostitute if you work in the financial district.  Unless you are working the financial district as a prostitute.
Thats the laugh i needed for today! lol

  • I judge the mom who called to RSVP to DDs birthday 15 minutes before it started. a full week after the deadline. And then just left her 3yo DS at the party ...all the other parents stayed. I'm not your babysitter. also her kid was a wild child

The RSVP part is annoying but I can get over that.

Leaving a 3 year old at a party is absurd in my opinion!  I judge her as well!

  • I am judging the hell out of the woman I see at Penn Station every day.  She's there with a triple stroller (looks like toddler twins and maybe a slightly older child of 5?).  When I first started this commute I thought that she was waiting for someone.  She's there every day when I leave work.  But twice this week I have gone home late (3 hours later than my normal time) and there she is, in the same spot with the stroller and kids.  Sometimes there are other people with her (I think I saw the kids' dad the other day).  They are all normally clothed, clean, etc, so I have no idea what their story is.  Maybe they don't have anywhere else to go?  No idea, but standing around Penn Station with your 3 kids in a stroller for hours on end just doesn't seem right.

I think you should take a day off and just sit there and watch her...and report back!

  • I judge people who do not listen or read things. I constantly hear our clients that are like, "Oh I didn't know". We emailed you AND left you a voice mail, AND you walked past the sign. Seriously? BTW, I am not talking about people who miss something occasionally, that's human. I mean people who seem to be purposely oblivious and/or assume someone is going to hold their hand.

On a similar note, I also judge my coworker who has been in my department since early spring and still does not know basic procedures that I was doing during my first week. Our department got two phone calls total yesterday and she transferred them both to me.

  • I also judge myself for probably being a liiiiiitle too excited about starting the 2nd 50 Shades book on my commute home tonight. I have a feeling (and am hoping!) that the sex scenes + my preggo hormones will help to satisfy DH's nonstop hornballness.
  • I judge my friend that is currently going through a divorce and called me last night to ask me if I thought that it would be a good idea if she asked her gynecologist out (who is married with a kid) She said that she felt like they had great chemistry.....it was so stupid, I can't even talk to her for a while.
  • I judge my bratty SOs little sister who is 20.  She is a huge know it all who has an opinion about everything but has ZERO experience in the real world.  She was bishing about how she was sick of being ripped off by the campus bookstore when she tries to buy a used college book.  But then she goes on to say "Thank God for scholarships".  NO...you can thank me and the rest of the taxpayers that foot the bill in our tax dollars for your OLAP "scholarship" (which is given to kids who are considered at the poverty level for their household).  Long story behind that.  I'm horrible, I know, but his whole family  just annoys the F outta me.

Could this lady be the nanny? Maybe she's just hiding out there instead of taking the kids where they're supposed to go, like the park or something.

There's a nanny I walk by almost every day while picking up my DD and she just parks the kids in a stroller in the shade while she reads a magazine or plays with her phone. I assume she's supposed to be taking them on a lap around the block to get fresh air or to one of the local playgrounds but instead uses it as a break and keeps the kids strapped in - would make sense if they were infants, but these kids are at least two and seemed to be parked in the stroller for extended periods of time. I feel bad for the kids - have thought about posting it on a local mom's listserve

I don't think it's the nanny.  It's like no matter what time I leave, she's standing there with the kids.  I assume she's the mom.  I'm going to have to leave enough time between leaving my office and making the train so I can walk slower and see what is going on.

If I remember correctly, NYC subway stations are air conditioned, right? Maybe they don't have A/C at home. That's the only other thing I can think of.

  • Now I want to know what that lady is doing at Penn Station every day.  Maybe saying bye to her husband with all the kids? That's weird.  Maybe she's meeting her fling and it's the only place they can meet!

I also judge the hell out of my clients who cannot follow simple instructions or READ emails.

  • I am also super curious about penn station lady now. DH is at penn station everyday I have to ask him if he's ever seen her.

And no subway stations are not air conditioned.

  • As the corollary to judging people who don't RSVP, I judge people who send out invitations WAY too early.  Unless you're my BFF, please don't send me an invite to your baby shower 8 weeks ahead of time.  I'm going to put off RSVPing because I just don't know my plans that far in advance, and I'll facepalm the week before the shower because it completely slipped my mind.  Obviously, events that require travel arrangements are different, but for a casual afternoon gathering (kid's birthday, shower, etc), 3 weeks notice is perfect.

I also judge people who listen to loud music on public transit.  If I can hear your music, turn it down.
  • Why not casually walk by really closely to the lady at Penn Station and then stop to say how adorable her kids are. Maybe that could spark something of a an explanation.

I judge a co-worker who walked through the office the other day distributing mail while talking on her cell phone.  And, it was a personal call.

Kelly, Mom to Christopher Shannon 9.27.06, Catherine Quinn 2.24.09, Trey Barton lost on 12.28.09, Therese Barton lost on 6.10.10, Joseph Sullivan 7.23.11, and our latest, Victoria Maren 11.15.12

Secondary infertility success with IVF, then two losses, one at 14 weeks and one at 10 weeks, then success with IUI and then just pure, crazy luck.  Expecting our fifth in May as the result of a FET.

She stands by the entrance by NJ Transit at 31st & 7th.  Inside the doors but before you get to the stairs/elevator.  You can't miss the triple stroller!  The kids are adorable, btw.

My toddler would be screaming to get out of that stroller!
Not if they spent all of their time with a nanny who didn't let them out of the stroller.  My sister lives on the UES and when she took her kids to the park she saw the same thing.  Her kids were often the only ones out of the stroller in the park.  Then nannies parked the kids and sat on the benches.

Do you think it's the kind of thing worth sending a note out on to the local mom listserve? I mean, it's not really abuse or anything awful but I'm sure the parents don't think they're paying for their kids to be parked in a stroller when they go to the park. I had some awful nannies growing up but they never locked us up like that.

I never even heard about the sandwich shop!!  Sorry, I meant Penn Station in NYC.  Guess I should have clarified for those not in the area (which is most of this board...)
