Anyone else not want to eat at all?

I'm 34/2 today and I know it's common for many women to be less hungry towards the end of pregnancy, but does anyone else just not want to eat or get full to the point of nausea halfway through a meal? I have GD, so I need to eat certain foods and preferably at certain intervals. Maybe it's all this bed rest and drinking 80-100oz of fluid a day? My baby girl was measuring small at the last ultrasound, so I want to try to give her as much as I can!

  • I'm having trouble with it too. I feel like I just sit around and nothing moves through me and I just don't get hungry.

I am having issues w eating and end up forcing myself to gag down my meals and snacks. The doctors want me to gain a lb this week since I have only gained 7 lbs at 28.5 e v weeks. I am on a GD diet and am lactose intolerant which makes it hard. I eat normal sized meals but my twins are taking it all.

They gave me lots of supplements to do like Glucerna a few times a day. I am also supposed to order all my meals w double protein portions. I also eat a tablespoon or two of peanut butter out of the jar at least once a day.

It sometimes takes me an hour to eat a meal. Good luck!

ETA: My doctors are not too terribly worried about my weight though. The babies are gaining appropriately and even measuring ahead. However, for my health and ability to bounce back after delivery, I need to eat and get some strength back.

  • Me too. I have GD so I am struggling with finding things to eat. It's not really that I'm not hungry, I just really have no appetite. Food doesn't sound good at all. I have to force myself to eat. Baby is measuring smaller for me too but my doctor didn't seem concerned. I've only gained 8 pounds since June but I think that has a lot to do with my GD diet and not pigging out on things that I want to eat. As long as your doctor doesn't seem concerned then I wouldn't worry about it too much. Just eat what you can when you can. And obviously drink a ton of water.
  • Yup. I often force fed myself with the GD diet. it is just part of the deal. you really must follow the diet, so must eat the food. for me, the hardest was the before bed snack because I had to have tons of meat. hang in there, it will be over soon.
