2nd Trimester
In shock over MIL
So, my MIL has never been super, just kind of "ok". She was not a very good mother to DH in his teens so she made things rough for him starting out. She never helped with anything for the wedding, or our new house, etc. Yesterday we get her Christmas card in the mail, I open it and there's a check for $500.00!!! WTF!! There is a note on it that says, "I want the two of you to have fun shopping for the nursery, I know you have all your big items purchased so this is for decorating". I am in shock. I called her to thank her after I talked with DH to make sure she really meant 500 and not 50 lol. So generous this time of year, I had to share.

Even the worst of MILs can sometimes do nice things
FIL got our crib which has an attached changing table and that's really all. I would like to get a comfy chair and some shelving, but other than that I'm not sure. I should probably wait to spend the majority until after the shower so we can get what we need.
Wow, what a great gift! DH's parents have randomly given us money in the past and said it's "early inheritance", but I think I'd still be shocked at a check for $500! Have fun shopping!
