CD and Washing Machines

I know that everyone recommends not getting front loaders while cloth diapering, but with the amount of other laundry this family makes, front loaders are the most efficient. I've been told to wash a towel with the diapers, but can anyone share any other tips? WE are looking to get the new machines soon.

I have a front loader and use CD's. Haven't had any problems. And I don't put a towel in or anything. I use the Bum Genius one size diapers and here is my washing routine:

1) cold cycle w/ small amount of detergent (I use regular Tide)

2) warm cycle w/ small amount of detergent

3) rinse and spin cycle

4) dry

I have a Fridgidaire. We rent so I didn't have any say in the matter, but it's working out quite well. To combat the mildew and stinkiness, I make sure to wipe any excess water away and let it air dry while open.

I have a front loader, and I do: 1. Quick wash cycle, cold water, no spin (no detergent) 2. Whitest whites cycle with 2nd rinse (1 scoop Charlie's Soap) The short wash with no spin takes about 12 minutes and replaces the need for a wet towel or whatever.
