Moms of small babies

What % was LO at 9 months? What did your pedi recommend, if anything, to put some weight on LO?

Re: Moms of small babies

  • Dd is in the 10th percentile, and our pedi said to add butter, sour cream to foods and make sure she eats 3 full meals a day.

  • We are 15 and 20%.  She didn't mention anything about size to us.  He has rolls everywhere, a 90% head, and is happy - no worries from the dr.  I'm 5'3 and my husband is 5'7.  He's just going to be a little guy.

  • DS1 was a premie and still under 10% at a year.  SHe said to beef up his snacks and we english muffin with melted cheese and yogurt.  I think she said we only need to add like a 100 cals a day to help.  At his 4 appt he was 95 for hieght and 75 for wieght so he caught up.

    DS 2 is a chunker.

  • I think she was 15% at 9 months but we just had her in today and she is back to around 10% which is where she had been since two months old. As such, the doctor had said nothing about packing on weight since 10% is normal for her. She doesn't love food but she tries everything and is happy to eat so we don't push it.

  • I cannot remember what percentile he was at the appointment but he's always been on the low end for weight since 3 months old (like 20th percentile or something like that).  DH is concerned, but LO is ahead of the milestones and he eats and poops like a monster so the doc is not concerned.  I think as long as your LO is consistent (like if he did not go from 90percentile to 10 percentile) then it's fine.
