April 2014 Moms

Opinions on this very important matter.

George Strait (my all time favorite, my life would be complete if I saw him live) will be playing in Knoxville, TN next March 1st. That's about 3 hours away from where we will be living at the time. Do you think it's too risky to drive that far? I will be right around 34 weeks. I know this is so far away but it's George Strait we are talking about!

  • Yea, I would say you would be fine. Most (most, not all) don't go that early. And even if you do, plenty of people give birth in cars now a days and it would be a funny story!

  • Go!!! That's not too far. You could leave early to make sure you can make plenty of stops along the way if you need to
  • Umm.. I'm a big country fan myself and I'd totally do it. I would just keep my big belly out of anyones reach. ;-)

  • I would definitely go too! I saw him a few years back and since George and his friends don't frequent NJ too often, I took my dad on a trip down to Maryland for a surprise bday gift! He was worth it and I would have still done it if I was pregnant. (Worst case scenario, and I hope it doesn't come down to this, you sell or give away your tickets last minute) hopefully they have seats so that people aren't bumping into you!

I'd say go for it.  If you are not high risk and and are up to it, have a blast!  My only concern would be the nice level.  I always heard the little one's ear are highly sensitive as everything is magnified in the fluid.

Our 2nd baby boy, Mason, was born still at 20w3d on 1/31/2012

    ((BFP 7/29/13))  ((EDD 4/12/14))  It's BOY/GIRL twins!!!

  • You should definitely go!
  • I drove myself from MA to NJ at 36w because we were moving, it's a 5hr drive. My dr just told me to get out & stretch my legs a few times. Maybe just make sure you know where a hospital is close to the concert?

I have a friend that lives in Knoxville so if push comes to shove, literally, then I will have her there to help me.

  • I think you should go. When I was a week away from my due date I went to the city 2 hours away and walked all over. My Dr said it was fine as long as I felt up to it.

  • Yes go!!!! He is wonderful live!!! And this is his last tour....EVER! So this is your last chance. Have fun girl!!
  • (I don't know who that is) almost killed me, girl!!! lol

I would ask my dr. about the noise level and if that part is ok, yes I'd go. I'm one of the biggest Dolly fans out there and I'd drive a good 3 hours to see her at 39 weeks if there was a hospital near by lol

  • I would go!  Even if your water were to break that early (and that's a big if), you'd most likely have lots of time to get wherever you need to be...and if you don't, and do have a labor of less than 3 hours- hello awesome!  Plus a kick-ass story to boot.  Have fun!
