Anyone else going through wonder week 26?

Hi everyone. Sorry I haven't been active here lately - time and circumstances...So, little miss N is 27 weeks. Last night and the night before last were horrid! She typically doesn't sttn yet but normally wakes about two to three times to nurse. She dream feeds and is usually done in 15 mins max and goes down easily. Last night she gave us her usually first four hour stretch, then woke up and was up for four hours! I tried everything - nursing, singing, walking up and down while rocking her, nursing her side-lying which she typically loves, placing her in our bed, placing her back in her pop and rubbing her back...nothing worked. I could tell she was extremely sleepy but was fighting it. Finally at four thirty I placed her in her pop, kissed her good night and made a big show of leaving the room. Went downstairs for half an hour and when I went back she was asleep. She didn't cry or anything. She just put herself to sleep. I'll have to try this again next time lol. I work tonight (12 hr shift) so here's to hoping she naps well. Sigh...

  • I think we're finally out of the woods with wonder week 26 *knock on wood*

It was rough, so I feel your pain. I think the only thing you can do is wait it out and know that this too shall pass. :)

Thanks mama. And of course tonight dd will sleep very well for dh and when I come home tomorrow morning he'll be gloating about how well she sleeps for him. Puh!

  • Poor mamas! We are still working out our kinks, but I have to admit it hasn't been awful. I plop him right back into bed and he usually talks himself back to sleep. I think the worst thing we are dealing with right now is he is not wanting to be alone during play time. Usually we place him in his neglectosaucer for a few minutes in the morning to run and grab a cup of coffee, but even his amazing jolly jumper won't keep him happy. The second you leave the room he sobs. Sigh. DH makes me wait him out and after 10 seconds he is happily jumping again. Crazy kid. I have to give this kid mad props though... We were travelling for 10 days during his growth spurt/ wonder week/ sinus cold and he did amazing. He Flew without any meltdowns and was a doll for his grandparents.

  • We! The last couple of nights were just horrible. Kid normally wakes up 1 to eat and goes right back to sleep. But not the last couple of nights, he woke up every 2 hours, decided it's chatty time and stayed up for an hour. And then up for the day at 6. That, and shots and teething (lower teeth coming up) all at the same time. So not fun.
  • We could be just starting it. Last night DD woke up at 1:45 and 3:45, she went back down fairly quickly. She normally doesn't wake up twice, it's normally once around 5am then back to sleep til 8. We'll see how tonight goes.
