3 of them are coming out tomorrow, and a broken moler. I'm nervous because I am worried about the pain. Anyone have any wisdom teeth stories that could put my mind at ease? How long did it take you to heal/ feel normal? My 5 year old starts kindergarten next Wednesday!

I had soup and grill cheese that evening. No pain at all. I never took anything.
However mine were not impacted. Just wanted them out.
I do have to get my upper right one out but have to go to the specialist since it is close to my sinuses. Was suppose to do that this summer. Did not happen since I hurt my back.
Good luck!!! Keep us posted.
Always good to have Vicodin on hand just in case.

My recovery was not great. I got very ill the day after surgery (likely from taking meds on a near empty stomach) and throwing up + holes in your mouth = no fun. It was the sickest I've ever been. I was feeling much better by day 4.
My advice is make sure you have something in your stomach and prepare on the couch for a couple of days!
chart.
I had all 4 of mine out a few years back. Took that vicodin and it was fan-fucking-tastic. I remember walking in and being guided to the dentist chair, the dental hygienist took my shoes off and I was all "ohhh that's so nice of you, thaaanks". The dentist gave me laughing gas and told me to count back from 10, I think I got to "Teee..." before I was out.
No pain or swelling for me, though I did lose feeling in the left side of my tongue for a year or two. Meh, it went away.

DH would pull out my bloody, drool-y gauze while I cried cause it hurt so bad (I also bled for a long time afterwards) and he'd pack new gauze in and tell me to go back to sleep. My cheeks didn't swell too bad though so that's good. I only needed like 2 of the Vicodin cause I just dealt with the pain.
The worst part was the gaping holes in my gums that were left for a few weeks afterward. They give you a syringe you fill with water and squeeze into the holes to flush out the excess food that gets stuck in there, and believe me it gets stuck. This is something you do NOT want to forget to do before bed.
I also got sick of the liquid and mushy diet real quick. My first real meal was a week afterwards at a local breakfast cafe, their homemade French toast. It was the best meal ever.
Best news ever- my top left wisdom tooth is making its descent, and those mother fuckers couldn't just take it out with the others so I might have to do it all over again. JOY
My son just had his removed he had to have oral surgery because his were impacted. He did fine never took pain meds either.
Good luck!
