Both my boys have suffered from awful reflux, but thank god Gelmix now exists for my second son. This thing is a miracle thickener and is hypoallergenic.
Just thought I'd post about it for any of you guys who havn't heard about it and are currently suffering from reflux.
I did a whole blog post about Gelmix if you want to read more, and no I havn't been paid or told to post this lol. I just am so thankful for my friend for telling me about this so I wanted to pass this on!

Re: love Gelmix for reflux!
FYI, your link doesn't work properly. Can you share a bit more the difference you see in the actual formula and the feeding? We are adding rice due to reflux and struggle to figure out what size nipple to use. Does it thicken the formula the way rice does? tia!
We use a level 2 nipple with rice thicken formula for reflux and it seems to work perfectly. How much rice cereal are you using?
It should work now! We did rice for DS1 and it did help but he still spit up a lot. We used a y nipple for rice per our pedi GI's rec. With DS2 we've only used Gelmix and it's a lot thicker than rice, I love it. It's the consistency of baby powder and thickens the milk immediately. We had to up the nipple size to a size 2 for it to flow nicely once mixed

When you click on it, in the address bar you can see a "%20" at the end of the url...that means she accidentally included a space at the end. Just delete that and it works fine.

OP - thanks for the info!
We don't add that much. 1/4 tsp per ounce she drinks. We are also using Level 2 Dr. Brown nipples
For the record we tried A/R and it was not a good match. We ended up having to give prune juice twice a day to get consistent bowel movements and even then the gas was too much for her. She actually spit up more than she did when she was on other formulas - go figure! We tried several formulas and are currently on Neocate, as it was finally figured out that she has MSPI. Neocate is incredibly liquid so we are adding the rice to keep it down.
