Hi ladies - We are getting ready to enroll DD into a daycare center where I am required to bring everything for her and have stocked in her cubby. We don't really have any "special" things that she requires daily, but what are some ways to get myself organized and prepared (besides mentally... that's my own issue ha)? We use formula and disposables so nothing too crazy there, but what about her other "snacks/meals"? Just looking for some tips from those who are already pros at this.
Other things (you've probably already thought about): paci to leave there, couple of changes of clothes, diaper rash cream, bottle labels, snack containers to send snacks in. All I can think of at the moment.
I send breakfast, lunch, her lovie for naptimes, a wearable blanket if its cold, diaper cream, a sun hat, an extra outfit, and an extra onesie. Once it gets cooler, I'll probably add a sweater or jacket and some shoes/socks.
For food, I'm still sending purees-- I send homemade food in small Tupperware containers, or jars if I run out of time. Eventually I'll send fingerfoods in small Tupperware containers.
@charliemomma I'm with u! Just started this week ...it's fine!! And since I feel so comfortable with the place I was ok too...M? I don't think she noticed I was gone! Ate u a teacher too?
I am putting together my stuff too....what about crib sheets, blankie, a sweatshirt or jacket, hat/sunscreen, and a toy or two that are favorites as well as all others have added above? I actually purchased 2 of his favorite toys (inexpensive ones) and 2 of the big board books to donate to his classroom. It's a little comfort from home for him and, yes, a little "incentive" from me to take good care of my boy! (Can you tell I'm a nervous FTM?)
My daycare is asking for 3 changes of clothes to be kept there. Just double check with your DC to see if they have any requirements. I was shocked by that one when I went in for his orientation! I also had to supply 3 crib sheets and 3 blankets, and at least 2 weeks worth diapers/wipes.
Someone in one of the DC posts mentioned diaper creme. Just check to be sure you don't have to fill out any paperwork giving them permission to apply it. I had to fill out permission forms for diaper creme, Aquaphor, sunscreen, as well as supply a "standing order" for Tylenol administration (the nurse still must call to ask my permission first as well).
Hope that helps.....I haven't started yet either. My first day is Sept 3rd. This is just based off of orientation visit!
@jg1011 Don't be nervous! It went TOTALLY fine..M had fun and was into it right away. I think if we would have waited longer it may have been different. But seriously, I don't think she even noticed I was gone! The DC ladies raved about how good she was...she is the only girl out of five so I think they were just psyched to have a girl!
