Shedding

in Babies: 3 - 6 Months
So, LO will be 5 months old next week and I am shedding worse than the dogs.  I've read this is common but how long does it last?  I'm so dang tired of cleaning my long brown hair up from, quite literally, EVERYWHERE!  I know it's not likely but I still fear I will be bald soon.   : (

    My hair comes off the brush in clumps. It's all over the tub, floor and everywhere. Out DD is 5 mons 1 wk. I too am fear of going bald. I am breast feeding.

    DD is 5 mo next week and it is terrible over here...I need it to stop.  I'm FF so i don't know that it matters.

    I also FF. I think it's just the absence if all those pregnancy hormones. I also have these short unmanageable hairs sticking out all over my head. Maybe i should shave it all and start from scratch. : )

    Oh yes.  i started noticing it a couple weeks ago.  There's long dark hair EVERYWHERE...it's coming out by the handful.  i keep worrying i'm going to end up bald too!

    Omg it's so bad. I really can't stand it. I'm going bald. My HDTV said he would buy me a wig or that hair cream for men. I am tempted to take him up on it!

    I am so glad you posted this.  My hair is coming out in clumps in the shower.  I thought that this was late to be happening.  Glad I am not the only one.

    My lo is 5.5 months and I'm still losing a bunch, but it has slowed a little bit. It started at 3 months with literally a handful of hair falling out everyday in the shower. I have thick hair to begin with and it was getting noticeable thinner. I donated 10 inches and the shorter hair does look a little thicker.

    My son is 14 weeks old and I am now noticing that my hair is really coming out. Too bad my hairdresser is on leave...

    I just did this last night! Chopped it off and I feel so much better.  It def feels thicker.

    Me too.  I swear I didn't lose a single strand of hair my entire pregnancy...now I'm definitely making up for it.

    When will it stop??? It is killing me!!!!

    Multiple ectopics, 2 failed IVF's
    IVF #1: Did not get to ET, embies all failed PGD (major chromosomal defects)
    IVF #2: We have 2 chromosomally perfect embies as a result of PGD (Boy/Girl) 1 failed the thaw (Girl) Transferred 1, yet ended as a c/p
    Thought it was the end of our TTC Journey 6/20/2012
    SHOCK BFP 9/28/2012: IT'S A BOY! and everything is normal !!!!!!

    Little A born 38w 2d on 05/23/13 and is a true miracle for this IF Vet!

    Glad to know I'm not the only one with this problem! My hair comes out in gobs every time I shower. It doesn't help that LO always yanks on the little bit of hair that I have left. I will be bald soon at this rate! Fingers crossed that all of this stops soon!

    I too have been shedding like crazy for a while now. My hair was so thick, and it's now thinner than it was pre pregnancy. I went to the hair dresser today and had about 4 inches cut off so it's now chin length. It looks thicker now, and I'm hoping it will make the shedding look less obvious. I've read that it can last up to a year PP. Crazy hormones!

    I did too. Feels a little better but still falling out. Then i had that panic moment the first time i washed it after getting so much chopped. OMG MY HAAAIR! Oh wait....yeah...
