Sneezing w/ a surprise!?!

So somewhat embarrassing story...but I'm hoping I'm not the only pregnant woman to have experienced something like this!  Last night I was washing the dishes, while DH was in the bathroom when all of a sudden I sneezed and peed my pants! I quickly ran upstairs to change & clean myself, when DH walks out of the bathroom, and begins to question/blame our dog for peeing in the house! I know most people may have let their dog take the blame, but I just couldn't! Of course, my husband laughed, but was supportive at the same time. I guess I better do more kegel exercises! At least it happened at home!

Re: Sneezing w/ a surprise!?!

  • Yeah, that happens to me about once a week. Its the worst

  • I haven't had this happen yet but I've heard this is common. One of my worst fears is having that happen at work or somewhere really embarrassing. How far along are you? Does anyone know if the chance of this happening increases the further along you are?

This started happening yesterday!! I didn't expect it to happen so soon. I am thinking of keeping a change of clothes in the car in case it happens while I'm at work. Stress incontinence seems like a b***h! edit: I'm 20 weeks

  • I started coughing and gagging this past weekend and peed a little. I told my husband and all he could do was laugh. Oh, the joys of pregnancy.

  • I sneezed and peed my pants just a little a week or so ago, not a good feeling.

My best friend blew her nose and peed her pants while she was pregnant. From then on, she only blew her nose while sitting on the toilet :)
  • Yup, happens too often now.
  • Haha I know this probably isn't the reaction you were going for, but I almost just peed my pants bc of this thread.

  • Oh yea, I had a terrible cold on Sunday. We were at a baptism party/birthday party and I really had to pee. As I was walking into the house, I definitely snissed.

I told DH later and he was so grossed out. I was like "it happens"

  • DH always knows when it happens to me because it goes something like this, "ah choo...aw man!" Quickly followed by a trip upstairs. He's very understanding, but it still bothers the heck outta me!

  • Haha...I'm glad I'm not the only one snissing! I'm in my 20th week. I'm a teacher and I'm afraid of this happening at school! I'm so bringing an extra pair of clothes to work!
  • Snissing. It sucks and it will get worse. Definitely up your kegels!

  • I haven't snissed yet. But I'm terrified of it happening at work. At least I work in a nursing home where I can borrow a few depends when it becomes a problem lol! So kidding.

  • I sniss every.damn.day.  It's gotten to the point where I've had to move on from regular pantiliners to full on pads.  It keeps up and I really will be wearing a diaper myself.

  • Yup. Snissing like a mad woman. I try to cross my legs if I realize I'm about to sneeze while standing. It seems cruel that sneezing AND pissing yourself are both pregnancy symptoms.
