Peeing through diapers at night

My 14 month old has been peeing through her diapers at night. She'll wake up at 3am screaming, and we'll find her pjs and sheets soaked. It's either coming out the top or through the legs.

In the past, she would start having blowouts and it was a sign to go up a diaper size. So we moved her up to size 4 (pampers cruisers), even though she wasn't anywhere near the weight limit for size 3 (she's a munchkin - 19 pounds). It was working until last night, she had another blowout.

Has anyone dealt with this? Do we need to start using overnight diapers? And if so, do we go back to size 3 or stay with 4?

We just started putting my son in overnight diapers because he was peeing through his regular ones every night for a few nights in a row. Since using the overnight ones, we haven't had an issue. If she doesn't leak through the size 4's during the day, I'd stick with size 4's and just use the overnight diapers for bedtime.

My DD has been in size 4 since 18-19 lbs. Shes 23bs now and almost ready for size 5. Imo, the weight limit means nothing!

If you haven't tried an over night diaper, I would recommend that. My DD is a peanut, but drinks enough during the day that she pees a lot at night. We have her in size 4s overnights even though she is under the weight and that seems to do it for us. I have also heard that someone (maybe Babies r us) has pads that you can put in the diaper to make them more absorbent. I haven't tried these, but others on here have mentioned them.

We also just started having this problem. My son is 14 months too and probably about 20 pounds. We switched to Pampers extra absorbency nighttime diapers. We kept him at a size 3 because he's on the still on the lower end weight-wise. So far, they only leaked once, but that was because he slept until 10am! I'll take the extra sleep over a dry diaper any day

When I went to overnight diapers, I kept going up a size like I always did. Definitely try overnight diapers.

We wouldn't be able to get through the night without overnight diapers. In the morning they are like a bowling ball!!!! Recently he has started waking up leaking out of them a bit...He's probably 27/28 pounds right now and in a size 4 (but he's been in the 4's for a long time). I'm thinking it's time for the 5's even though he's not within the weight limit they claim. Try the overnights for sure!

My LO just started having this leaking issue at night. She's only 17lb so no where near ready to move up to size 4, those weight limits are stupid though because we moved her to size 3 way before weight wise said. No leaks during the day though. Guess we'll try some over nights.

We've used Size 4 pampers overnights for the last couple nights - and no leaks! I think we're going to keep using the size 4s during the day too - she still has that chunky baby belly and thighs, so the bigger size gives a more secure fit.

I love the Pampers or Huggies overnights. My almost 18 month old loves the Pampers. She calls them, "Elmo Diaper"

My LO wears a size up in diaper at night plus we insert a diaper booster pad, called "Select Kids Diaper Booster Pads." They are awesome. He has not had a leak since.

My son was having the same problem, but we just switched to overnight diapers and now they're doing the trick, unless he sleeps in. He wears a 5 but I think he's starting to grow out of them now. I'm not sure how much he weighs but his last appointment he was 28 pounds!
