So his pediatrician recommended diluted prune juice. Half an oz of water, half an oz of juice. I gave that to him about an hour ago and still I haven't seen any poops and he's pushing really hard as if he's trying. I was told that the prune juice would help soften his poops and it'd be easier for him to go. I've read a lot of things online saying that dehydration is the cause of it, but I highly doubt he's dehydrated because he has 10+ wet diapers a day. So I guess I was wondering how long it should take for the prune juice to make him poop? Is it bad for his little belly? Should I give him more? I've also heard of other moms mixing it in with their formula? Should I do that. And if so how much do I put if say I make a 3 or 4 oz bottle? Any tips and advice would be nice, I'm worried about his poor baby belly. Right now he's pushing so hard and crying and I feel so helpless =(
