...Conducting a town hall meeting at my alma mater about affordable education for middle class families. Because I am alumni, my name was entered in a lottery to attend, but I wasn't chosen. The Secret Service and SWAT team will be setting up at H's family business, as it's right across the street. They offered FIL a VIP pass to the event, and he declined, despite knowing that I really wanted to go. Not only was I interested in the discussion, but I could have brought DD, and I had high hopes of getting a photo of her with the President, because that would be really fucking awesome, and a good story to tell her when she's older. I am irate at FIL that because of his hatred for Obama, he would make a big deal about declining the invite, when I wanted so badly to go. I guess I'm just venting here, but fuck. This week can go straight to hell.

I wouldn't go out of my way if it was a president I did like. Had I liked this president and been in bpers shoes, I probably would have been upset. I just don't care to meet him. I know the president is different than a celeb, but I wouldn't go out of my way to meet a celeb either.
