Eating Healthy?????

Are you watching what you eat (eating healthy) or are you eating whatever stays down?

My coworker expressed her concerned that she thought I should be eating more healthy. Yesterday I ate a burger & today I had a slice of pizza... She said I should force vegetables regardless if I throw them up or not!! Unmmmmm I don't think so

Re: Eating Healthy?????

  • At least this point, I'm eating whatever sounds appetizing and that I don't gag when I think about.  I realized early in my last pregnancy that you've just have to eat what you can.  I'm not the healthiest eater in the world anyway so when I start feeling less gross I'll continue to eat the way I did before, which I don't think was bad.  Dinner is always my most balanced meal.

  • I eat whatever I can stomach. Once I get through these food aversions I'll start focusing on health again.

On the bright side, the one thing I am really liking these days is fruit.
umm yeah with the fruit. It's my go-to snack every few hours. Plus if you stay with the P's (pears, plums, peaches and prunes), it REALLY helps with ummm.... "digestion" :)

  • I am definitely eating whatever sounds good right now. I've been so sick it's nice to have some relief when food sounds good.
  • Ill be the first to admit I've eaten like CRAP in my first tri, because my all day nausea has been so bad there are very few things that sound good and I can actually stomach (and unfortunately a lot of them come from a drive thru LOL). My Dr said that's absolutely OK, as long as when I start feeling better I start eating better too.

  • Before preg, I used to get a big salad every day for lunch... spinach, chickpeas, tons of veggies, hard boiled egg, olive oil... Since about week 5, I can't even look at the salad bar!  I'm pretty much eating whatever doesn't make my stomach turn, which has been some soups, grilled cheese/tomato sandwiches.... Hopefully I can get back on the veggie bandwagon soon!

That's how I feel!! She made me feel bad a little as if I wasn't eating properly for the sake of my baby. All honesty I'm glad I can eat period
  • yeah, I'd cut a bitch.

I'll eat what I want, and can.

  • Anything that stays down. Why do people think it's ok to EVER comment on what a woman is eating?? One of my coworkers told me yesterday I shouldn't be drinking soda and I nearly tore her head off. Baby will tell you what you need. :-)

She actually has 2 kids!!! She brought that up as well how she chose to eat healthy during her pregnancy but guess what??? She doesn't even know the meaning of nausea because she had such a perfect pregnancy!!

I HAVE A CO WORKER LIKE THAT!! She doesn't understand how my pregnancy/all day m/s is affecting my ability to function at work, because she had a "perfect pregnancy" with her son...30 years ago. Everyone at my office (including my boss) has been super supportive and cut me some slack since they found out what was going on with me, but she told me "well, you're just going to have to suck it up!" I used to really like this woman, but she has NOT been my friend since I got pregnant!!

  • Oh god a pregnancy unicorn. The worst kind of creature to give unsolicited pregnancy advice.

  • Has anyone tried those new Cinnabon balls from Taco Bell? I had them the other night, and they are amazing! I also bought a piece of German chocolate cake at the grocery store yesterday and ate the whole thing.

Other than that, though, I'm eating what I'd normally eat. My husband just got diagnosed with diabetes, so our dinners are actually a lot healthier than they were before I was pregnant.
  • I'm eating what stays down. I used to have kale/fruit shakes every morning and other good stuff. Now fresh veggies make me hurl. Screw what your coworker says and eat what you can for now. I had a hamburger and pizza slice this week and have no regrets.

Same. Super healthy and the past three months I'm just eating what I can keep down, still making an effort to make healthy swaps. Waiting for the cloud to lift, though! Anxiously!
