XP: PP running plan

Anyone here running postpartum? I am getting close to my pp 6 week appointment and hope to be cleared for exercise soon. I was able to run, slowly and not as long into my 7th month. But have not ran 3-4months now. During this time I remained active with walking. I'm wondering how you eased your way back into running after giving birth or how you plan to do so. Thanks!

Just wanted to say I am 7 weeks pp and will start running again soon (stepped on a nail and uncomfortable to run now). I plan on doing a version of the couch to 5k plan. My goal is half marathon this spring!

Marathon coming up in Feb. Gulp! ;)

    Which marathon?
  • I ran until the day before I delivered (about 3-4 miles 5 times a week at a 11/12 min mile pace) and then walked right away.  Around 4 weeks pp I did a really nice and easy 10 min mile 3 miler and built from there.  By 3 months I could run 6 miles in 9 ish minute miles and got faster from there.

  • I ran through the pregnancy, including the morning I was sent to the hospital for my induction.
I gave birth on a Sunday and we were home Monday night.  Tuesday we started going out for daily walks - about 2 miles.

At 3 weeks, after my bleeding had stopped I tried a light, easy 2 mile jog.   I kept that up, both in speed and distance, until my 6 week appointment where I was given the all clear.  Then I started training for a half marathon.
