Stroller/travel system

My husband and I are having a difficult time deciding on a stroller/travel system.  We have it narrowed down to the Britax B-Agile travel system and the Chicco Key Fit 30.  Which one of these travel systems do you ladies prefer?  Any opinions or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Stroller/travel system

  • I have the britax b-ready. I love it! With DS I knew we wanted a 2nd baby relatively soon after he was born so we got the b-ready since it transforms into a double stroller.

I have tried both of them out in the store, it seems to me the Chicco was easier to get the car seat out of the stroller.  Anyone else have that problem?
  • My sister has the Britax B-Agile travel system and LOVES it. The car seat from Britax (B -safe) and the Chicco Keyfit 30 review about the same and are about the same price point, though - they're both really good seats.

Ultimately we went with the Chicco seat and a BabyJogger City Select stroller because the BJCS can be converted to a 2-kid stroller and the B-Agile cannot.

  • Were going with the britax bagile and bsafe carseat. I have a few friends that have it and absolutely love it. the ONLY complaint I've heard it that the basket underneath is somewhat small, but that's something I can deal with! I played with the travel system at a babyshower last weekend and it's very simple to use and very lightweight compared to other strollers!
That was very true w/ my sister's. We took my nephew to the zoo and her B-Agile basket wouldn't fit her diaper bag and a camera bag in there at the same time (and neither were very large).

  • I has issues as well with the Britax as well in store. Found the Graco to be the easiest.
  • You know I am on the fence too!!! We are registered for the Britax b-ready. My sister has it and loves it. There is a good chance we will have two children close together, so I like the convertible option. My husband likes the big basket. But, I like the weight and the compactness of the b-agile. The basket is the only thing that stops me with that and the options for later. Well I guess I will figure it out soon:). Love hearing you ladies thoughts too!!
  • Whatever you pick, practice closing it. I remember the first time I took mine to the store. It claimed to be "one hand close" and I couldn't figure the darn thing out for anything so I was crying in the parking lot of target until another mom walking by rescued me. It is in fact one hand close now that I know what to do!

I went with britax b agile stroller and graco 30 car seat and a snap and go. I'm all about the lightest thing out there that will make in and out of the car as easy as possible.

I'm also getting a skip hop diaper bag to combat the small basket. It will attach to the handle.

  • I dislike travel systems :)  We ended up getting a snap-and-go frame and used that for the first few months.  Then we purchased a BOB stroller.  Sometimes it's hard to know how much you'll actually use the stroller in the first few months and to sink that money in straight-away.  I couldn't get my DD in the stroller for the first 8+ months without her flipping out, so a travel system early on would have been a waste for us.

This is basically what we're doing except going with the carseat that comes with the britax b agile as a combo.  One of our big factors though was that I have a small car and I knew the seat and stroller will fit in it--we're also going for the skip hop bag to attach!  Great minds think a like!  I also know that it was really important to me to have a stroller that didn't weight 900 pounds WITHOUT a baby in it.
  • My husband really liked the B-Agile system and I did to, until I realized it had no tray or cupholders.  And then I found out they could be purchased separate, but had to be removed/replaced everytime you folded up.  Pain in the butt to me.  Lightweight was the most important so we went with this: The Graco FastAction Fold Sport Click Connect system in Caraway from BRU:

This is the one we went with too. Mostly because my husband loved the stroller being so easy to use and it had really quick/smooth handling. (His words)

This is what I did too, as a FTM planning on a 2nd close in age. It's sturdy and moved well around the house so far! I also got the Britax infant car seat as they can't use the stroller seat part until 6 mos.

  • we went with the chicco 22 and a snap and go frame a friend is loaning us.  I'm not a huge fan of the bucket, i'd much rather wear the baby.  that's why i went with the lower weight limit, and the lighter seat.

We were looking at the B-Agile but decided to go with the B-Ready in Twilight and its gorge! We plan to have our 2nd close to our 1st so we love the different configurations of the B-Ready. Its not a "travel system" per se because you need to purchase the carseat separately and my SIL got us the Britax B-Safe.

One of the "cons" of the B-Agile (before we thought about the expandability aspect) was that the basket was small. The B-Ready basket is huge! The B-Ready is a bit heavier/bigger than the Agile but my husband likes that it looks more rugged. I didnt' have a hard time folding it granted my IL's got it for us about a month ago when I wasn't as big so it was easy for me.

I have a couple GF's who have the B-Agile and love it.

Fair warning on the B-Ready - the Buy Buy Baby stroller person told me they don't always work as well in doubles configuration because the kid who's sitting in the back can't see anything. You might wind up getting a different double stroller once LO#2 comes along anyways.

  • I sat and played with the strollers at BRU. Like I literally took it off the display and rode them around, closed them and really compared what was a better fit for me. I went with the Chicco KeyFit 30 because I found it to be the most compact, lightweight and easiest to close. I did not even think to do that with my daughters, I pick one out on looks. I regretted that big time, the stroller was heavy and I barely used it because it was just too much work. I would go to the store and sit there and actually play with the stroller and decide that way.

  • I love my BOB duallie revolution. We are a pretty active family and it fits well with us. It is wonderful for running and great for trips. I absolutely love that it holds up to 50lbs in the single and 100 lbs. in the double. It is a bit bulky but it is so incredibly sturdy and I can push it with 2 fingers.
  • I purchased the Britax B-Ready system

I've used the jolly jumper parent pouch with the britax b ready and it works great and doesn't need to be removed when closing. FWIW. Not sure how I feel about a kid tray being necessary.

I really was considering the graco fast action sport people listed here but the child tray made it too big IMO when I folded it up. I knew I'd constantly be removing it.

For the price that's the one I liked, but I got a b agile stroller for $100 off Craigslist.
