PGAL Check In (LATE!!)

Sorry its a day late!!!!!! I went the entire day yesterday thinking it was Tuesday and did not realize my mistake until I got to work this morning!! Thank you PG brain!

For those who do not know PGAL is Pregnant After A Loss. We welcome anyone who has had a chemical pregnancy, miscarriage, still birth or loss of a child and are now pregnant again. Being pregnant after a loss comes with a lot of emotions and, while we're thrilled to be here, it's scary as well. Hopefully we can use this check-in to find support and friendship in other women going through a similar experience.

Note: This week 3 of the member list check in. If you would like to remain on the ACTIVE member list please post at least a little reply. It can be as simple as a "Here" just to let us know you are still actively participating/reading these posts. I will run the check in for 3 weeks and then create an active members list from the people who replied at least once during the check in. As always all PGAL ladies are always welcome here not just the "members". If you checked in last week you are good, you do not have to check in a second time if you do not want to.

How many weeks? 21 Weeks!

Symptoms? Tired, random food cravings.

Any updates or appointments coming up that you'd like to share?Not much going on around here. Next appointment is in a couple of weeks.

GTKY: What has pregnancy brain made you do? I don't know if it's pg brain because I did it before too, but I will get up to do something and completely space on what it was I was getting up to do.

YAY I love my PGAL check in and I felt like something was missing from my Bump life this week!

How many weeks? will be 20 on Sat

Symptoms? yesterday baby kicked for quite a while after lunch and dinner. I'm still waiting for them to get a bit stronger so DH can feel them and so I accept that that's what it is. Otherwise no symptoms at all except snail trail and little things like that.

Any updates or appointments coming up that you'd like to share? Next week I have a midwife appt and a follow-up u/s (we had a/s this week but baby was scrunched in a little ball)

GTKY: What has pregnancy brain made you do? Rent a doppler was the biggest, but also I realized I didn't actually believe this pregnancy would have a good outcome until our 20 week a/s 3 days ago. It felt like the first day of my pregnancy, until then I think I subconsciously was not very hopeful. It has been a weird week because I feel like I've only just now started to truly feel pregnant.

Symptoms? Stupid spotting reared its ugly head last night. Why????? It was faint. But it was there.

Any updates or appointments coming up that you'd like to share? My EDD has been changed to Jan 21. My a/s is scheduled for Aug 29 - considering being on team green.

GTKY: What has pregnancy brain made you do? Right now, I'm still functioning normally. There was one incident in 1st tri where I put a block of cheese into the utensil drawer and could not find it for one day.

Symptoms? Tired

Any updates or appointments coming up that you'd like to share? I see my OB in a few hours. I'm hoping to discuss my options for VBACing. I'm hoping since I have an anterior placenta that will help the VBAC argument....if it would just move up a bit.

GTKY: What has pregnancy brain made you do? I constantly will walk across my unit to do something then when I get there have no clue what. I'll start to walk back and then figure it out. I'm tiring myself out with this!

Next OB appt is Sept 3, and A/S is Sept 4.GTKY: What has pregnancy brain made you do? Lock the keys in the car...luckily my car has a combination unlock pad and I was able to remember that number. This is my first PGAL check in, so I'll share a shortened version of my story. DH and I had been TTC for about 2 years when he deployed with no luck, he returned in March '13 and we got BFP that month. We found out in April we were expecting twins, on the 15th of April I miscarried naturally. Dr. told us to start trying when my hCG levels were below 5, we decided to wait until my cycle had returned to normal. That cycle never came and we got a BFP on 5/13! Baby #2 is due 01/18/14!

How many weeks: 19w 1d. Almost half way through!

Symptoms: Tired, boobs hurt.

Updates/Appointments: I go for my A/S next Thursday. I'm excited and anxious. My quad blood work came back with low odds so I just need to get through this ultrasound and *maybe* I'll feel comfortable with this pregnancy.

GTKY: I haven't really had much pregnancy brain this time around. With DS I was constantly forgetting things. I lost an entire gallon of milk because I put it away in the pantry.

How many weeks? 20w 3d

Symptoms? I get waves of insane nesting followed by days of exhaustion. I am getting a lot done but then I sleep for days. Oh and I have been feeling really full already. I still do not have much of a baby belly but my little guy is right on track for size. I feel like he is snuggling my back bone and really smooshing all of my organs in the process. I already have to eat tiny meals and I am only eating 3 times a day because I feel like there just isn't any room in there (already!!)

Any updates? A/s last Friday was great. Its a boy (if you missed my post) he let us get all of the important measurements and see his goods but then decided to stop cooperating and went to sleep so we didnt get a cute profile picture. The tech tried her best but he was not having it!

Symptoms? Hunger all the time.

Any updates or appointments coming up that you'd like to share? Ultrasound on Tuesday that went well and a regular check up today that went well also.

GTKY: What has pregnancy brain made you do? Mostly I have been forgetting my spelling and grammar. And as someone who takes great pride in my skill of the English language, that makes me want to cry.

How many weeks? 20w1d

Symptoms? Weight gain - too much! I had this problem with DD around this point in my pregnancy, so I think it's just the way my body gains weight. But my doctor did have to have a talk with me about being a little more careful about what I eat.

Any updates or appointments coming up that you'd like to share? Our A/S was Monday - LO is a healthy baby GIRL!

GTKY: What has pregnancy brain made you do? Very forgetful! I spent one morning before work, sitting in my car searching for my work badge..only to realize I was already wearing it! :P

Symptoms? Aching back and hips...I think I am going to make an appointment with my chiropractor.

Any updates or appointments coming up that you'd like to share? I have a prenatal appointment tonight.

GTKY: What has pregnancy brain made you do? I forget things constantly on the way out the door and I am pretty sure DH is sick of turning around so I can retrieve things (although he'd never say it).

How many weeks? - 20 weeks on Saturday! Halfway there!

Symptoms? - Craaaazy dreams. Restless legs and sleeplessness at night, which is killing me. Luckily I work from home so I can take naps!

Any updates or appointments coming up that you'd like to share? - It's a boy! My anatomy scan isn't until 22 weeks but they took a look for sex at my last appointment. So excited.

GTKY: What has pregnancy brain made you do? - I can't really think of anything. I've always been somewhat absentminded unfortunately, and luckily so far I haven't felt like there's been an uptick!

I am 17 weeks this week.

The only symptoms I am having is RL pain and I believe I am feeling baby I had lots of fluttering last night and pretty sure I felt one strong kick!

I have not really forgotten much but that could be pregnancy brain forgetting what I have forgotten

How many weeks?17 Symptoms? Sore boobs. Pretty much everything else is gone. And of course, the damn things are growing and have begun looking very obscene! Any updates or appointments coming up that you'd like to share?Had my MFM appt. yesterday. They say everything is perfect. Confirmed Baby B is a boy (we already know A is). I go back in 5 weeks for my first glucose test. They took my SSA/SSB levels. Measured my cervix and they say it is very long. GTKY: What has pregnancy brain made you do?The battery in my wireless mouse died the other day. I was putting in new batteries and couldn't get any of them to work. I was getting extremely frustrated....and then I realized I was putting the batteries in backward.

How many weeks? 18 weeks tomorrow! EDD Jan 24th 2014

Symptoms? Lots of stretching, pulling going on right now. I called the OB nurse because it was kinda crampy and she said it was normal so I am remaining positive!

Any updates or appointments coming up that you'd like to share? We have our A/S and 2nd genetic u/s on Wed and I really am getting so excited!!!! Everyone has been telling me that they already know or that my intuition should tell me, well I am not really sure where thats leaning towards but if I had to chose I would say GIRL! But really dont care as long as LO is healthy. Names are picked and I cant wait to go buy some cute clothes!

17 weeks!

can't believe it! My next apt is not until 9/11 for my a/s. symptoms, still just the nausea and headaches other than that feeling decent. And I've been feeling some pretty good movements the past few weeks but they are starting to become more consistent.

How many weeks? 19 and humming right along!

Symptoms? Nothing really, except for feeling tiny wiggles and kicks from 2-5 in the morning. So maybe sleeplessness.

Any updates or appointments coming up that you'd like to share? Had our A/S yesterday. Team blue! Getting used to using our name now, James Vaden.

GTKY: What has pregnancy brain made you do?

Today I had to go to the dentist and I usually give the dogs a choice between "crate" or "outside". Our basset hound always chooses the crate as we live in Texas and she hates the heat. The King Charles Spaniel always chooses outside. I got home today and realized I had not put the thing in that closes the doggy door to outside, so poor Chloe was sitting in her crate like a good girl while Toby was running all over the house taunting her. Poor baby! I felt like a bad doggy mama today. I have never done this in two years!

Hi all, this is my first week here. I've had 3 previous miscarriages. This is the first time I've made it into the 2nd trimester. My MFM found out this time around that I have a blood clotting disorder (MTFHR), and since I've been on blood thinners baby and I have been doing great! My EDD is 1/28/2014.

How many weeks? 17wk 2days

Symptoms? m/s from hell, still! Waking up 3-4 times a night to pee.

Any updates or appointments coming up that you'd like to share?
I have an appt next week for a check up.

GTKY: What has pregnancy brain made you do?
I forget my cell phone and keys everywhere.

Symptoms? Peeing every 1-2 hours, and insomnia seems to have set back in again. Feeling a lot better now though, except for the hit and miss acid reflux [thank goodness for meds].

Any updates or appointments coming up that you'd like to share? Anatomy scan on Monday. Hella nervous. Regular OB the week after next.

GTKY: What has pregnancy brain made you do? I've been off on my dates all week. I seriously have to sit there and think about what date it is, or look at the calendar. I've been forgetting things, too - I started making lists of tasks again so that I don't forget to do something.

Any updates or appointments coming up that you'd like to share? Nope, just had my anatomy scan and monthly appointment and everything looks great. No more appointments for another month.

Left the house without putting shoes on my kids, leaving my purse at the park, driving several miles past my turns when I was going somewhere...the list goes on.

I am new to this board and would love to be added to the group. My EDD is Jan 26. A little bit about me.. I lost my son this past Jan due to a placental abruption from a blood clot. Thankfully I wasn't found to have any clotting disorders but it doesn't make me miss my LO any less as he was my first. I look forward to passing my loss milestone as I'm waiting to exhale, but enjoying (or trying) to enjoy this pregnancy none the less. And I am the proud mommy of a 6yr old furbaby named Pinto.

Symptoms? Random abdominal pains.. which my MFM chalks up to growing pains but totally freak my PGAL brain OUT.

Any updates or appointments coming up that you'd like to share? I have my A/S in 2.5wks but our gender reveal bbq is 2 days before because my wonderful mother suffers from SERIOUS baby excitement and will be at the A/S. So the SO and I have taken the reigns on this one.. and will blab to my family before she actually sees it on screen.

Symptoms? Tired, feeling full, hard to get comfortable, back and hip pain, random crying!

Any updates or appointments coming up that you'd like to share? It's a girl! We found out yesterday. Next appointment is Sept 4.

GTKY: What has pregnancy brain made you do? Forget EVERYTHING! Especially words. I will open my mouth to say something and it will just fly right out of my brain. It's especially bad for me to forget words since I'm a writer and communication manager for work!

PS just so happy so many of us are still here...and welcome to our new additions. Thebump has gotten me through some pretty tough, and some pretty happy times! Add a symptom: tendency for lovefests.
