NTPRR: Prenatal vitamins?

Okay, so I am currently taking prenatal vitamins, cause the clinic asked me to.  And the ones I have smell. So. Awful.  When I take the lid off, I nearly gag every time.  They taste as good as they smell.  For those who don;t know, I am simply an egg donor, so this is no pregnancy symptom, they're genuinely repellent, even my husband can't stand the stench.  So my question is, is this normal prenatal vitamin behavior, or would this be solved with a new brand (maybe something without all-natural fish oil)?

    I take New Chapter pre natals and find them easy and non-offensive. I also take their pre-natal fish oil which is equally innocuous. They aren't cheap, but Whole Foods and Pharmaca both carry them. Whole Foods seems to have them on sale every other month. :)

    Loss due to umbilical cord clot...baby was perfect. :(

    Dec.' 2, 2013 - FET#3 with our last chance embie - BFP!!!
    Dec' 26, 2013 - hb!!
    EDD 8/20/14 with a baby girl!
    Little S was born on 8/21/14 - 8lb, 14 oz and 20 inches long.
    We live in Seattle and used SRM for our donor egg IVF cycle

    I take Rainbow Light prenatals and they have a vitamin-y smell but it's very light. I can't remember which one I started taking but I accidentally bought a gigantor bottle of the wrong ones from that brand, so instead of the 1/day it's 4/day. 8-| For the 1st year of TTC I took the One A Day brand prenatals which are not odorous, but compared to other brands they are definitely not the best option.

    I take the Target brand PNV's, and I haven't noticed a smell with them.

    I have taken the Trader Joes PN and they have been fine. I also take them at night with dinner so there is no chance of them making have an upset tummy.

    April 2013 DE IVF= BFN

    September 2013 DE IVF (Fingers Crossed) = BFFFN! again...

    October 2013 FET of our last 2 = Beta Hellzz for 6-7 Weeks. M/C

    First, what an awesome gift you are giving someone! My doctor put me on a prescription prenatal called CitraNatal Assure. I love how they smell and taste. They cost about as much as other prenatals I've seen ($50).

    I use Nature-Made prenatal with DHA. I had one bottle that was stinky, but the rest have not been and I've been taking them for  years. I also liked the Vita gummies (I think?) prenatals. But I don't think they have DHA.

     2/11/13 - DEmbryo FET #1 Thawed four, sadly two didn't survive. Transferred two beautiful blasts. 
     2/16/13 - First BFP of my life @ 6dp5dt! EDD 10/30/13
     3/27/13 - After beta and u/s hell, no heartbeat ever detected. D&C at 9w1d.

    6/5/13 - Adopted four new embryos that had been frozen for seven years!      
    9/12/13 - DEmbryo FET #2. Thawed and transferred two beautiful blasts
    9/17/13 - BFP @ 5dp6dt! EDD 05/31/14
     9/29/13 - m/c @ 5w1d. :(

    11/19/13 - DEmbryo FET #3. Thawed and transferred one blast from each batch. Wow!
     11/23/13 - BFP @ 4dp6dt! EDD 8/7/13
    Beta #1 @ 13dp6dt - 522  Beta #2 @ 16dp6dt - 1373 
    6w5d ultrasound showed one perfect baby with a beautiful heartbeat of 134bpm!

    I take VitaFusion gummy prenatals with DHA.  They are inexpensive, could pass for sugar coated candy.  I like that I don't need water, and can take them whenever I remember.

     

    TTC since 10/09 Me-43 DH-44 RE and testing 10/10-11/10, Recommending IVF 1/11 New RE AMA and DOR-DH low motility IVF #1.1 cancelled 3/11 due to poor response IVF #1.2 May 2011, one perfect 8-cell embryo, 3dt-BFN, IVF #2.1 Converted to IUI d/t poor response. New RE 9/2011. IVF 2.2 completed using HGH,EPP,DHEA, Q-10 and accupuncture. Transferred one 8-cell, grade one embryo on 10/19. BFP 10/31/11 Chemical pregancy on 11/2/11. Started stims for IVF #3, our final try, on 12-2-11. ET on 12/18. Transferred 3 Grade A embryos-BFFN Planning DE IVF, late March/early April- Donors ER expected to be 4/2-4/4. PAIF/SAIF welcome

    I have decent insurance so for me it's cheaper to just get prescription prenatal vitamins and I need ones with high iron, so I take PreNate Elite (or the generic of it). They are film coated so there is absolutely no smell.
