We used the Baby's First Year Week by Week for a the first few weeks. We stopped then because babies do things at different times and it can get frustrating when your baby isn't doing what the book says they should be. Also, in those first few months, reading a book was the last thing I remembered to do when I had some free time. That book does give you some good suggestions for play with baby.
I think I'll have to catch up on some baby book reading.
We have the What to Expect book. I like it...it has some nice information in it and is informative. It goes by month and also has a really nice illness section. Anything not in there I google or ask the pedi.
I also have the What to Expect the First Year book. I didn't read that one when I was pregnant, but I have found it to be useful. I usually read a few months ahead though, to prepare for what's coming. But the Bump baby boards have been much more valuable!
Re: Mommies- what parenting/1st year books do you recommend?
