Hi ladies
I am in need of some sleep help. My little once used to be such a good sleeper up until 4 months and now we can't get back on track. He will go down about 7:30/8. Then we are back up at 10 screaming. I try to go in and just pat him and now pick him up but that does not seem to he working. I have tried picking him up till he calms down then laying him back down and we are back screaming. I have also tried just letting him cry but that then leads to a huge mess where he is not able to calm down at all. He seems to want to eat but I think he should be able to skip that feeding or am I wrong?
I am at a loss.
I am thinking about sleep training but don't know where to start.
Thank you for your help as I am feeling like I am going over the edge.
Re: Sleep help
I'm sorry you are so tired, I can relate. My DD still wakes every 3 hours to feed, she started doing this again when I went back to work. She dropped two feedings during the day and nurses for longer at nights. I would love to get more sleep, but I also think this is a very special time with my LO so instead I try to hold her a little longer and tighter during those late night feedings, because although it doesn't feel like it, they will end eventually. JMO, because I am not a fan of sleep training at 6 months, but I think if the baby is waking because he is hungery, then feed him.
If he thinks he needs that feeding, feed him. I tried to skip the night feedings in order to coax my daughter to sttn, but all it did was make us both miserable. I'm sorry that he won't sleep and you're both so tired! I have been there!!! I'm actually there now, but LO sleeps fine. It's me who can't sleep.
