Is anyone finding that their allergies are so much worse while pregnant?
I am so stuffed up all.the.time.
I remember being this way with my sin but not anywhere as bad
I always get more stuffed up. Something about the extra fluid flow in your body and your sinuses swelling? I hate it! Especially during the season change.
My allergies were CRAZY bad in the first tri. I think going cold turkey without any meds is what pushed me over the edge to having migraines. But now I'm back to taking a zyrtec 24 hr pill and I've been better. I could do without the extra morning congestion though! Good luck-- you aren't suffering alone!

I don't think the congestion is necessarily allergy related. My allergies haven't been bothering me at all except for the nose issues. When I talked to my doc she said it was very common bc, as PP mentioned, we have so much extra "stuff" going through our bodies right now that mucus tends to be on overdrive. She did recommend a humidifier though!

Pregnancy can cause sinus congestion with or without allergies involved, just because there's so much extra blood everywhere, including around your nose.
However, I notice my allergies are just plain different. I'm reacting like crazy to things that never bothered me a bit before, like dogs or salads, and meanwhile my usual allergies have all but vanished. I'm not sure if the trade is for the better or the worse overall.
I have increased stuffy nose yuck when I've had dairy. I try to get dairy in the morning instead of the afternoon/evening, because a stuffy nose contributes to morning nausea. I don't think mine is allergies, which usually affect my eyes.
I am really congested as well, which I'm sure is the reason I've been getting so many headaches... The pressure is just too much sometimes! But my doctor said it's normal... Just another thing to deal with, I guess!
