Will never ever sttn

Up 4 times last night, I think. I lost count. She was up from 12:30 to 2 am at one point. She's almost 9 months old. She takes. 2.5 hour nap between 6 and 8:30 am. she's obviously exhausted at night but can't sleep.

Maybe this is just how life will be forever.

Re: Will never ever sttn

  • I hear you.  I read a stat somewhere that 90% of 9 month olds sleep through the night with or without sleep training.   Oliver is still waking up 1-2 times a night and he will be 9 months tomorrow.  I guess we are in the 10%.

  • I'm sorry. I've been there, and sometimes Benjamin throws me off yet again. You just never know. Tomorrow could be the day it all changes. And then maybe change again. Sucks!

  • never say never.  But definitely send DH/your partner in every-other time so you can get some rest.

If this is unusual, I'd chalk it up to a growth spurt or teething and just try and muster through. If this is a regular thing, I personally would read a bunch of sleep books and see if you can try and work on it.  Not sleeping makes me absolutely batty.

We were at one MOTN feeding for weeks and weeks and everyone was fine with that routine, then my supply randomly tanked for like a week and she wanted TWO MOTN feedings.  Once my milk was back, I started trying to taper one of the feedings.  Then last night she STTN for the first time ever-- dropped both MOTN feedings in one swoop.  I'm so hoping she repeats that tonight!   And I hope that happens for you soon!

  • @maven212 I sympathize. I feel the same way, we are in the 10% of that stat shared too. Last night V was up from 3:45-5:00. I'm just exhausted. I have resigned myself to the fact that this is just the way it will be. One day I'll sleep again. Hopefully before I start staying awake worrying about him driving.

At this rate we should exchange phone numbers and at least keep each other company!

I'm going to be one very tired teacher come Sept 3rd.
