RP March 14: 1st appointment

Finally had my first appointment at 8w6d. My doctor offered to hear the heartbeat even though she said that sometimes you can't hear the heart beat this early. But within seconds we heard the sweetest sound ever of a little heart beat. I was so relieved as my symptoms have been so mild and some went away a few weeks ago so the heartbeat was reassuring. I'm excited we get to see our bean in 3 weeks. Of course my doc talked to me about my AMA but she is so reassuring as she was AMA with her 2nd as well.

    Congrats on your great appointment.  Hearing that little heartbeat is one of the best sounds in the world.

    Congrats! Wishing you all the best! Every pregnancy is different, so no worries on not having symptoms out the wazoo, just consider yourself lucky! With my daughter, I had the easiest first trimester ever. The only symptoms I had was a few food aversions and some breast tenderness and other than that I felt great and just absolutely as normal as I always felt. It wasn't until she started kicking like an entire soccer team that I even felt pregnant with her because I didn't even really show until my 6th month when apparently she changed positions one night and suddenly I woke up with a baby bump when all I'd had before was a little rounded belly because I carried her in my back early on. My mom said she had almost the same exact pregnancy with me. With my second, a son, I was sick 24/7 for 5 & 1/2 months so bad I got dehydrated enough to need fluids twice... trust me, I was definitely missing my symptom-free pregnancy! This one's been kind of in between, nothing major, but I've definitely felt pregnant right from the start. So long as your Dr is happy with your progress and everything is looking good, just enjoy your pregnancy!
