Date night ideas

DH and I rarely get to go on date nights, but we finally went out a couple weeks ago while FIL was visiting. We went dinner then drove around aimlessly for a bit before coming home. I feel old and boring. So tell me.... what do you like to do on date nights??

  • Drink, eat, see a movie.

One of these nights I want to do a cooking class together. He really liked his class and grills way better now.

  • Our anniversary is Tuesday. So we are going out to dinner. Then have sex. That's it.

  • Massage and dinner. Sometimes movie instead of massage, but there aren't any good movies out these days.

  • These are good ideas! Maybe my problem is that DH is a party pooper. He hates cooking, wine, theatre, and all these things that sound like fun to me! I think I may be able to convince him to partake in some put putt or going to a comedy show. Whenever I ask him for ideas all I get is that he wants to have sexy time in public which is totally not my thing lol. @hijoi Ill have to check out your board. Ive been wanting to start following you on pinterest anyways with all your yummy recipes and reviews. :)

  • What about a show like Cirque du Soleil, do they come to your town? Or any festivals coming up?  (Greek, Italian, Renaissance, etc)
  • I would also recommend dinner and drinks. I can't sit through movies anymore, I fall asleep!! But I've been trying to get DH to go to a drink wine and paint place for awhile now!!

Do you have one of the those places where you drink and paint a picture? It's fun! You BYOB and learn how to paint a masterpiece (well, I think mine turned out that way ;) ). I've been with my sister, but I think it would also be a fun date night idea.
We mostly go out to dinner or have a couple of drinks.  We don't have the time to sit through movies anymore. The painting and drinking places are really fun. The one in our area is Painting with a twist and I think it is a franchise.
  • We build our date nights around actual scheduled events instead of having just a random night out together. DH's coworkers tend to throw a lot of parties, so once a month or so, we'll get our parents to stay at our house with the girls and we go to the party. Sometimes, we tack on a trip to the mall and/or a nice dinner just the two of us before the party. Or we go away for a weekend, like to a college football game (we have one scheduled mid-Sept!).

  • An easy thing to do, too, is to just have date night at home. Every single Fri and Sat (if we're home), as soon as the girls are in bed, we pour some wine, break out our favorite snacks, and watch either a movie or whatever show we're obsessed with at the moment. We'll watch 3 episodes back-to-back on a good night, get a little tipsy, and snuggle, lol.

This is usually what our date nights end up being too - weddings, parties, dinner with friends. We also go to a lot of special events in town - Taste of the City, Oktoberfest, music festivals, etc.

  • @pinkangelmoon DH doesn't usually care for crowds so we don't normally go for festivals or those kinds of things but he may go if it's something that really interests him, or if there's a car how there lol. @kissyfishylips I miss being able to go out with friends. Most of ours are on the other side of the country and we would trade off babysitting with one of the only couples we normally hang out with around here. I think that's why it's harder to think of things to do just the two of us bc we were so used going out with other people most of the time.

  • also do you have any dinner/movie places? you get your dinner while you watch the movie, I have not yet been but I want to try it out.

we also tend to do different things on our dates: rock climbing and paintball are some favorites.

I don't think we have any near here, but we do have a drive in movie that we had talked about going to bc Ive never been before.

I love all these ideas and we just recently talked about taking a cooking class together. We usually do dinner and a movie. We did a comedy show one time and that was super fun! We also frequently go to trivia nights at local restaurants with some of our friends. Oh and we went to six flags last week, that was fun too :)
