Down to one nap?

It looks like DS might be dropping his second nap...sigh. He takes a nice long first nap from 10-1 (used to be 9-11), and either plays in his crib for 2 hours when I put him down again at 3, or flips his shit entirely and screams. Either way he's not sleeping.

Anyone else have a one-nap pony?

Re: Down to one nap?

  • I wish Emma would go down to one. It's hard getting play dates if she falls asleep as soon as we get there. But like today we drove 2hrs to see DHs family and are on our way back and she slept coming down and now is sleeping. So that is a plus today but I prefer one nap!

Ellie is still working on it. She still takes 2 naps/day a couple times a week, though. I'm thrilled, however, because DD1 was already working on dropping naps altogether at this age (she pretty much stopped napping daily around 15mo). She transitioned to 1 nap/day around 9mo and it wasn't pretty.

  • Anna seems like she might be ready to go down to one nap. She used to do 10-11 and then 3-4 but lately that afternoon nap isn't happening as often. Those days suck because she is a wreck by 7 pm bedtime. I've tried to keep her up longer in the morning and put her down after lunch, but she just seems so exhausted by about 10:30/11, I usually just lay her down.

  • Nope.  We are still at 2.  I actually would love one, nice long one that I could depend on, but he still enjoys two cat naps.  He naps at 9 and 2 for about 45-1 hour each time.

  • My guy has dropped his second nap quite a bit ago. Sometimes I or the daycare can get a second one if the morning nap was short, but it's rare. On the plus side, he tends to nap for a good 3 hours (11-2pm on average) But I do find him cranky by 7pm.

  • I wish I had a sleepy one. He takes one 45 minute nap a day. Sometimes he will sleep in the car if we are out and about. He has been this way since he was around 7 months.

Omg. I think I'd constantly be in the car if that was the case here. lol.

I know I would drive us around all day if gas didn't cost so much.

FK is headed towards one nap but she still occasionally will have two. I'd like her to have one long, predictable nap

This is my dream, too. With an emphasis on the bold.
