Babies: 0 - 3 Months

Baby weight

How is everyone doing about losing the weight they gained in pregnancy? I gained 55 pounds! I had preeclampsia and was on bed rest for a couple of months. So basically did no exercise(bad morning sickness in the beginning) I used to run 5-6 miles. So I am trying to start up with running again. My belly is so mushy! I lucked out and didn't get stretch marks but how do I tone it up? Thinking about doing cardio kickboxing too. I have 30 more pds. to lose. My baby is 9 weeks old. But I have hardly any clothes that fit and I want to fit back into my size 6 jeans! seems impossible but I am determined. I don't have money to buy a new wardrobe anyways.

Re: Baby weight

  • Not doing well here! I am keeping my calories up to breastfeed and none of the weight is coming off. I gained 22 pounds and haven't lost any of it. Other than taking baby for walks a few times a week I don't have any time to exercise.

  • Gained at least 45 ( stopped counting near the end ;)  ), and am down 25. Butts still way too big for my old jeans, but feeling pretty good for 3 weeks pp. Not to mention these Bfing breasts are a nice bonus.

  • I'm only 2+ weeks PP, so I haven't been cleared for major exercise yet but I am planning to try the Jillian Michaels 30 day shred- I know people who swear by it.

  • 10 weeks PP here...I gained 25lbs during mine. I am down 18lbs...7 to go to be at pre-pregnancy weight. I just started a postpartum specific workout about 2 weeks ago. Muscle memory is amazing...I am surprised how my body did fairly well the first week, it was hard, but felt good and even better the second week. I am back into my regular clothes and hoping to get into my "skinny wardrobe" by next month, which I haven't been in since...well we wont go there.....hahahah!  Just remember to listen to your body, start slowly and don't get discouraged!!
