Crib sheet for daycare

Hi Ladies! Look forward to contributing here as my DD starts daycare in 2 weeks and I'm back to work in 3.

I assume most daycare centers are the same...they have porta-cribs and I'm confused on the crib sheets.  Paperwork says porta crib sheets but is this the same as PNP size? I emailed them and received a response of 'ports crib sheets' not saying yay or nay if its same as PNP sheets.

 Any insight?  Thanks!

PS- for those with infants, I'm loving the new Aden and Anais muslin crib sheets- they are the best!

oh and 1 more question.....did you put a crib mattress pad on the mini crib at daycare??

  • Our daycare has full cribs, and they also provide sheets that they wash everyday.

But I just googled portable crib sheets and results come up for them at various stores like Target and Walmart. They do not look like pack n play sheets at all. Here is a link to amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Fitted-Portable-Crib-Sheet-Blue/dp/B005EGXI1S

  • At my son's daycare they use a full size crib up until 1.  We had to bring in regular crib sheets once a week. Now they sleep on mats on the floor.  We still bring in crib sheets and they put on the mats.

  • Ds daycare provided the crib and the sheets for it as well. At his previous daycare, we brought our own sheets to fit the mini crib and we just brought his regular crib sheets. They were too big but the excess was tucked away fine.
  • Thanks everyone for your replies! Wow that's nice that some daycares provide the bedding.  I'm trying to think of everything she may need, but I'm sure ill forget some stuff at first ;-)

Just a regular one should be fine.  No need to look for something special.

  • DS has a regular crib sheet.  His sheet and blanket get sent home on Fridays.

  • Our daycare centers have always provided the crib sheets.  All I brought was an A&A blanket for DS.  For DD, all I am bringing is a sleep sack.
DS born 8/8/09 and DD born 6/12/12.
  • I used regular crib sheets and tucked the extra underneath.....
  • Hi! I have worked at a lot of different Daycares in the last 9 years. Almost every child care center I have worked at had crib sheet violations. I read in another reply that they fold the excess under the mattress. That is not acceptable to licensing standards. When the baby moves the excess sheet tucked under can come lose and pose a suffocation & safety hazard. The current daycare I work at asked me to make a crib sheet for 1" mattresses (standard in most centers). I ended up making them 40 crib sheets, 2 sets for each center. The state licensor came out and approved these sheets to pass licensing standards. Feel free to email me at sheetsbyshauna@gmail.com. I do sheets to order.
