The Oversharer

Everybody knows one, am I right? Well this co-worker of mine that I BARELY even know (like see once a week and speak to briefly) Just sent me and 4 other coworkers (wo also see her only once a week as she works from home) this email: (random periods added for search reasons)

So it seems that L.uke has discovered that touching his pe.nis feels good.  And rubbing it on things feels even better.  Last night he was rubbing it on bu.ddy our wiener dog (appropriate huh).  Who of course was trying like hell to untangle himself from Lu.ke.  I get Lu.ke up and tell him that its not nice to do that, Lu.ke insist, "but it feels good on my pee pee".  After getting Lu.ke to bed I figure that I will do a little research and see how other moms handle this.  So I proceed to the den quietly and locate my I Pad.  I begin my first Google search..... 9 year old boys with ere.ctions.  Ummmm yea can't look that up.  Second search....9. year old boy hu.mping dogs.  OMG that's even worse than the first one.  I'm terrified now that if I actually look something like this up that the Feds with immediately ping me as some deranged pedophile!!!  Soooo I'm gonna need some help, a book, suggestions, blow up little girls...I dunno but something!

Is this real life??? I don't even know how to respond. I think I'll pretend I never got it... What do you think??

  • My response would be "Leave him alone in his room" and "please don't ask me for advice about your sons junk".

Why is her 9 year old walking around sticking his pecker on everything in the first place? Are they nudist? Was he holding the dog down and trying to screw it? I am so confused and terrified by her email.

My other co-worker that received the email has a 9 year old boy as well so she actually replied with "tell him to put his wiener back in his pants!" And the email sender replied that you can't do that because it causes shame!

Uhhhhh.... privacy and modesty and APPROPRIATE BEHAVIOR are good things to learn. Imagine if he did that in school??? Kids don't forget that kind of stuff and he would still hear about it in high school, I'm sure!

  • WTF!  That is so creepy and weird.
  • Tell her it's time to teach him what appropriateness is and to do it in his room. Beastility isn't ok

  • What in the actual fuck?! He's NINE. She is setting him up for a lifetime of embarrassment & awkwardness. Way to go, mother of the year, because god forbid you tell your pre-teen that it's inappropriate to whip out your penis and basically jack-off anywhere you please. She sucks.

What the fuckity fuck? Tell her she needs to go tell him that masterbating with his hands in the privacy of his room or bathroom is perfectly normal and healthy. Trying to "screw the pooch" as it were, is not!

    Oh how Iove thee. :)

  • Uh, honestly, this is way past oversharing and crosses a line of things that should not be said to coworkers.  I'd probably forward the email to HR/your boss.  They deserve to know they have an employee with no understanding of appropriateness, especially if you work with any type of client.

FTR, I was an HR Manager before I SAH, so I put myself in those shoes.

But seriously, the kid is plenty old enough to be told when/where it is appropriate to whip it out.

THIS. If I'd gotten this email, I wouldn't have gotten past "penis" without forwarding it to HR.

  • Also - why is a nine year old still calling his penis a "pee pee"?

  • Uhhhhh, so yeah. Maybe suggest this is a subject to discuss with his pediatrician if she needs pointers on how to talk to her kid about his changing body, but not the office.

  • That would make me really uncomfortable... Why would you ever share that information with ANYONE about your child? I would definitely shoot a copy of that to HR and then suggest that she contact her pedi's office for any classes/programs geared towards that age group which discuss this sort of thing.

  • WOW... what a gem! I'm speechless. Let us know if you show HR and anything happens...

@hokiemama06 My boss is my dad. I asked him if he would like to read a super inappropriate email that "lady" sent to 5 people in the office, and he said no. We are just a small business of 8 people. No HR department or anything, so its pretty lax. In any other company, I'm sure this kind of thing could get someone reprimanded, if not fired, but ours is 75% family members so things like this tend to just get swept under the rug. And FTR, "lady" is one of the 3 who aren't family, thank gosh!
