Stay at home moms, how do you make extra money or save money?!

Im a new stay at home mom, going on 4 months now....My youngest son is in preschool 2 days a week at $50 a day, and my 9 year old and 5 year old are in school all day....My fiance leaves for work at 5AM AND doesnt get home till 730pm.....We made the decision for me to stay home (we both have new vehicles and just bought a new house) Sometimes I feel guilty because I dont bring in any income and stay home....but he knows how hard i work taking care of the kids etc. How do you save extra money or make additional home for your family staying home. Although he says we dont "need it" Id like to feel like im helping save us money or bring in extra spending money!

    see if you can find a job while smallest is in preschool. you don't need the job so there is no rush or pressure to find one quick

    I save money by using the same frugal spending habits that I grew up with, and we stay well within our means even as income has gone up over the years.

    When I spend money on things for the house I do research and try to choose things that will serve us well for many years, rather than break right after the warranty expires and force me to buy a new one. I would rather pay more up front for a quality vacuum cleaner, for example, that performs well and will last a long time, than for a POS that I'll be replacing in another year.

    I turn the lights out when I'm not using them.

    We use cloth diapers.

    We sold our cars and joined Zipcar (which only works because we live in a place where transit is the way to go).

    Also, a certain amount of every paycheck automatically goes into savings. It is off limits. Once a year we review everything and do our long-term planning, review our investments and make sure we are happy with where our money is and what it is doing, maybe make an additional payment on our mortgage.

    Other than getting a job, I have no ideas for how to make money while SAH. I'm hoping to transition DS into daycare in the coming months so that I can get my career back on track.

    I am in direct sales with Thirty-One and really enjoy it. I pay a few bills and also get time out of the house. Plus I am able to use it on my résumé while also being at home. Good lck! And yes, remove your email :)

    I budget and take care of an extra child 4 days a week.

    I also do direct sales and enjoy it a lot. (thirtyone and Advocare) like some others said this not only gives me a little cash (we use it as our "fun" money) but also gets  me out of the house and I am able to have some adult time.  I am also going to start babysitting a friends little girl that way I am still home with DS, but have a little income.

    Meh. It's annoying and it's a way to defuse the comment I really want to make...which is if you have to ask, maybe you shouldn't stay home.

    What I don't get is the OP just bought a house and 2 cars.  So are the cars bought outright or are they financed?  Just wondering because I would not feel too good personally having lots of debt (not including house) and not working, even IF my child was in preschool part time.
