So after spending hours yesterday panicking, freaking out, calling around, researching, and swatting away the OBGYN's insistence that I get the tank out of their office and safely away to a cryo-freezing facility, I finally talked to my doctor. He wants to trigger me tomorrow with Ovidrel and do the IUI first thing Thursday morning. I admit, I'm a little skeptical... I did an ultrasound yesterday and my largest follicle was only 9 mm (on the left side) and the technician says they'll grow between 1-3 mm per day... so the smallest it will be is 12 mm, largest would be 18 mm by the time I do my IUI... I don't know how intense Ovidrel is so I don't know how much of a boost it'll give my follies.
In any case, I am relieved that I can at least try this month. I literally made myself sick with worry yesterday (shipping it back would've ultimately cost us $350 and taking it to Indianapolis would have put a lot of stress on us AND cost us $150, and taking it to a new doctor would have delayed my first IUI). Whether it works or not is debatable, but then at least I won't be crestfallen if I don't get a BFP. I will just have learned a lesson and try again with an RE from the Indy area. At least they'll be able to take our vials and then we won't have to worry about the swimmers expiring...
In any case, please send fertile thoughts our way Looking forward to reading TTT later on when the day is over!

I'm downloading Circle + Bloom for IUI/IVF right now in the hopes that it keeps me calm. I've gone and gotten myself a cold - between stress at work and stress from an expiring sperm tank my immune system is shot. Aaaaaaaaaaaaand I just bit my tongue from violently sneezing. Wonderful. Cough syrup makes CM nice and sperm-friendly, right??? LOL Oh my... I think the meds are getting to me.

If this cycle works it will be a bloody miracle considering all the obstacles we've faced... Just got my Ovidrel today. My sperm tank expires today - that's totally awesome because my IUI is tomorrow. Factors impeding this cycle: a nasty cold, rampant stress, extraordinarily poor communication from my OBGYN's office, and an expiring sperm tank.
I'm holding out hope that the expiration date of the storage tank is a loose guideline rather than a firm deadline for viability. I've heard liquid nitrogen can maintain its freezing level provided the tank isn't opened or tampered with, which it hasn't been.
This will be one tenacious kid if conception miraculously happens this cycle.

New Plan: Reciprocal IVF, me as carrier wife's eggs. Just went through insurance and received partial approval, so my part will go through my IVF benefits and wife's part will be out of pocket. Now just finalizing finance plans to cover the oop costs. Doctors office is in process of moving to a new building so there are no IVF start ups until March/April 2015.
