I've been comfort nursing DD for a couple of hours every night before bed recently. I actually have been loving our quiet time together--my husband is usually working in the evening, so it's just the two of us. I read or watch tv while she very slowly nurses herself to sleep, and then she usually stays asleep until morning. I'm not sure we would have fallen into this habit if she would take a pacifier or wasn't pretty high-needs or if there were other people around to make me feel sheepish about our nightly marathon nursing sessions, but it's working pretty well for us. Are we totally crazy, or are there other closeted comfort nursers out there? I feel like I ought to feel limited or exhausted by our little arrangement, but I'm actually just enjoying myself because I get to spend my nights with a snuggly baby instead of a fussy one.

Wow - what time does he wake up?
I do some comfort nursing, but not that long. I try to go sleep within half an hour after she does, so once she's enough asleep, I take her off and put her to bed so I can get to bed.
