GD Diet - big shift in numbers?

For moms who've been dealing with GD for a while, did you notice a big shift in your numbers after a few weeks on the diet?

I've been monitoring for 2.5 weeks now. For the first 2 weeks, I usually found at least 1 post-meal test per day to be 130-140, too high for the 90-120 range they want to see. My good numbers were generally between 105-120, and I've never had a problem with fasting numbers. Suddenly, over the past few days, I've been getting post-meal numbers that are closer to the 90 minimum  and fewer over the 120 max, with one even being too low. I'm happy to be within range, but the dip seems odd since I haven't further adjusted the diet really beyond what I've been adhering to from the start.

I see MFM again on Friday, but was wondering if it might be due to my body readjusting to a new "normal." Has anyone else had or heard of anything similar?

  • I think it all depends on exercise, stress and hormones. I get fluctuations all the time with the same consistent foods.

  • The same thing happened with me. I've been on the diet for 2 1/2 weeks and my numbers are closer to 80-90 even post-meals. I've had two high ones this week that were really random (140), but for the most part they dramatically dropped this week.
