Itchy nipples?

One of my main pregnancy symptoms, like many of you, has been growing, sore boobs. The last few days, though, I've also been dealing with really, really itchy nipples. (Really awkward/uncomfortable at work especially). Has anyone else experienced this, and how have you handled it? I'm guessing its just from stretching skin and nothing to really worry about?

Re: Itchy nipples?

  • Lol! I had the same thing last week! It was terrible, but only lasted one day, thank goodness!

  • Mine have been itchy the entire time! Lanolin works really well and can be found in the breastfeeding section of Walgreen's or CVS.

  • Mine were super itchy last week. And very dry. I went and got some Vaseline. Worked immediately!
  • This has been plaguing me from the get go, much to my husband's amusement (I'm at the point where I'll full on scratch in public). I found that sports bras make them itch more, I'm much better in a regular bra.

  • Glad to know I'm not alone! I'm stopping by the pharmacy on the way home from work to get something for relief!
  • I have been experiencing itchy nipples to...my boyfriend finds this very amusing, especially when we are sitting watching tv and he turns and stares at me and laughs cause I'm just going to town itching them!
  • Mine get itchy on and off. When they're itchy, they're really really itchy. It's such a weird symptom I didn't even know could happen. I'm glad to know its not all in my head
  • Maybe it depends on the brand you use? I've been using lanolin everyday for weeks and it hasn't stained anything. I'm also pretty conservative with how much I put on, so that might also be why I'm not having issues with that.

  • I had this during my last pregnancy. I used lotion and it helped. I also had dry skin on my nipples which SUCKED! Lotion regularly helped a lot and didn't stain.

  • Same here. I was using cocoa butter, but switched to vitamin a, e, and d lotion from GNC which has worked better for me.

  • I also have the same problem and it is so annoying! I have been using lotion and it seems to provide some temporary relief.
