PEOPLE! Stop stressing about milk.

I say this in all good humor & with the utmost respect for FTM worries about new transitions... STOP WORRYING SO MUCH ABOUT MILK.  Your kid is going to be ok.  Whether he drinks 1 oz, 10 oz, or 30 oz of milk per day.  Whether she drinks whole cow's milk, soy milk, almond milk, coconut milk, goat's milk, or human milk.  Whether he drinks it all at one time, in 15 installments, in the morning, before bed, at meals, between meals, out of sippy cups, regular cups, bottles or a beer funnel.  You don't need to cause yourself so much stress over this!  It will be ok.

Sorry, just had to get that off my chest :).

And they'll be okay whether they drink it from a bottle or a sippy cup or a champagne flute glass!

Also, I know I've asked a few questions related to milk, but I'm not stressed over it. I'm curious. I'm trying to get opinions of others. Im seeing what other people do out of curiosity. Plus, I'm in the process of weaning, so there are a couple factors in play here. This post made me feel like I was back at the first tri board.

Edited: do out of curiosity, not donout curiosity.

  • I agree that its just being over-analyzed and over-thought (is that a phrase?).  Just relax, go with the flow.  They're eating/drinking habits are gonna constantly change and you just gotta go with the flow.  Say they don't drink enough today, they'll probably make up for it tomorrow.

  • @WhtRssnGrl sorry, it really was meant in jest.  It's just the collective total of people posting questions about milk so much in the past month or so.

  • In this house, it's a beer bong.-- aka-- Milk bong.  DS can clear it like no other!
  • It's always the same thing since our kids are the same age.

I agree it does get a little repetitive but that's the nature of BMBs. Also, moms wouldn't be moms without a little worry.

You forgot the "done with BFing" post, "Is this a contraction?" post and a "did my water just break?" post, but yes I've seen all those and it gets old.
  • Thanks. Seriously. I sometimes stop myself and realize that it is stupid to worry, he is clearly healthy and happy (if a bit of a beanpole), but then I hear the voices...."NO cows milk until a year!" "16 to 24 oz a day!" And it makes me feel like I SHOULD worry.

  • @BluepointToasted - This is my issue with raising kids in our modern society. We are made to feel like we MUST worry because child care is SO complex and we couldn't possible be doing it right. And that if we are not freaking out, we must be bad moms, because good moms clutch their pearls in terror all day long.
  • Yes @piphigirl! I am actually just finishing a vacation with a group of families, and we a couple of us were talking about how much having kids has changed. Basically, it is odd how much of a thing "parenting" has become. It just seems sometimes like I watch parents hover and worry over every. single. thing. and all it does is make them and their kids crazy. So much of it is unnecessary. I try really hard to ask myself "does this really matter?" before I open my mouth to the older ones, or before I worry with LO. I also appeared to be the only mom that had a good time on this trip. Aaannnndd....had the only baby who slept well and didnt have major meltdowns. Link perhaps?
