I feel horrible

I just lurk and have only commented a few times ... but, I was just dressing my LO (after she pooped all over the changing table mid diaper change) and as I was dressing her, she started screaming. I thought she was just hungry. A few minutes later as I'm nursing her, I notice a red scratch mark on her head. I must have scraped her head while changing her. No blood or anything like that ... But definitely a scratch that must have hurt. I'm sure this won't be the first time I make a mistake but my heart is breaking; I feel so bad.

Now, she's done feeding and sleeping on my chest. We need to run errands, but I just want to cuddle her a little longer.

I feel like I get an F in the mom department today. Would love some sweet words or something to make me feel better.

    It happens. A lot. They get hurt and sometimes it's your fault but they forget and forgive. I've dropped stuff on their heads. DD has fallen off the bed when I was supposed to watch her. They are tougher than they look.

    I accidentally dropped the remote control on dd's head. It just slipped out of my hands, but she didn't make a peep so I kissed her head and moved on. Your LO's fine, I do understand having the mommy guilt though.

    Oh I forgot I dropped the iPad on his head. Obviously he's fine if I forgot it even happened.

    I ran my LO's feet into the doorway earlier, he was ok:) not even a tear.

    I was clipping DD's nails over the weekend and accidentally took off some of her skin with the clippers. It bled and she cried pretty hard for a few minutes. I felt awful. But she's fine and so is your LO. It's a long way from their heart. 
    I did the same to DD and I felt terrible!

    Thanks, guys! I just feel so bad! I know it's the first of many mistakes/accidents. But, I still can't help feel the guilt that I caused her pain.

    I popped my 6w old in the face with a maraca. Shiit happens, and you're still A#1 in their eyes. :)
