High-Risk Pregnancy

HBR & Diet/GD

I was admitted last night and they have me on an 1800 calorie diet and told me no food from the outside. I think I should be eating more than that with twins. Plus the morning snack was a banana, saltines and a slice of American cheese. No protein, all carbs. I'm frustrated because I have been controlling with diet for 5 weeks successfully and I feel like I know what works for me.

My MFM is supposed to be coming by at some point today so I am hoping he can/will get it changed for me. Does anyone else have experience with this? 1800 calories seems low to me for one baby, let alone two. My weight gain is right on track.

  • That does sound low. But with all the protein maybe their goal is to help with muscles. I'm just guessing as I don't have any idea. Like you said, ask your MFM and let him know your about to get hangry. (Hungry+angry)
  • That seems strange. I've been in the hospital for 5 days now and the nurses encouraging me to eat as much as I can. I'm 27w4d with twins with no PIH or GD. If anything the nurses get upset if I don't order enough food.
  • Woo hoo! MFM finally came by and has taken me off of ALL diet restrictions. As long as my levels look good I can take care of myself.

I can stop sneaking food now :\">
