Shots today, whomp whomp

Ugh, DD had her shots today and I felt bad when they did the finger prick because that was worse then the two shots they gave her! She bled all over my shirt, lol. She was petrified of him even though he's the only ped she's ever seen. He had to go by the door to talk to me (on the other side of the room), just so she'd stop crying so he could talk to me.

She's 22.5 pounds and 30 inches. He said she's tall, but it doesn't mean really anything just yet. I hope she gets our height. I'm 5'9 and DH is 6'. My uncles are all between 6'-6'4, so I'm hoping she's tall. I hope she doesn't get my thunder thighs, though.

The doc said she's good with either 2% or WC milk because she's growing just fine, and he said give her between 12-18 ounces of it a day. It made me feel so much better to get all of this information b/c I'm weaning from nursing and had no clue what do to as far as milk amounts.

Did anyone else have to go to the doctor this week?

Poor baby!! Ugh, such a traumatic day....shots and the finger prick. Yay for healthy babies!

We had our appt last week - DS is 20lbs 6oz, 29 inches long. 3 shots, and the lab decided that they would do a draw instead of the finger prick. That was awful to watch. But they said it is much faster than the prick and hurts a lot less (because of all the nerve endings in your fingers). They were so good with him, got it on 1 poke and it was over quickly....still traumatic though (more so for me!)

We just got back from DS' appt. He did great with the finger prick and lost his freaking mind during the shots. The paper they had him lay down on was soaked with his tears...so sad! He is still a peanut at 18 pounds and 28 1/2 inches but no concerns.

I agree about the weaning/milk discussion being helpful! I feel like I have a better grasp on a plan now.

Her birthday is today and our appointment is tomorrow. Not looking forward to it. She's just like DD1 and screams at everyone. SMH

DS had his one year appointment yesterday. He had 3 shots (he already had the finger prick last appointment) and is 26lb 1oz and 32.25"

He cried big tears for the shots but calmed down after a minute. I'm happy his appointment was late afternoon because we went home, ate dinner, had some motrin and was out like a light.

Our pedi makes the nurses give shots for that reason. Poor Isla!

We went yesterday. She's 30 inches and only 18 pounds, which is funny to me because my husband and I are both short. The shots and finger prick traumatized her (me too) and she is still running a slight fever today. But the nurse already called me back and said her CBC was normal, thankfully.

@Springmomv2...She seems to be taking to 2% better, so I might stick with that and see how it works.
