WWS12D...random growth on gum

DS's top left side gum has been kind of swollen looking for awhile now, about 3 weeks or so. At first I thought maybe he had a tooth coming in, but it has turned a blue/purple color and there is no hard spot or a tooth under the gum trying to push through that I can see. He will let me touch it and push on it so it doesn't cause him pain, but when I lightly press on it, it's soft not hard. Also, its gotten bigger since I first noticed it. I've been going back and forth on weather to call the doc or wait for his one year appointment which is September 12th. So, what would you do?

I would call the nurse line to see if they think it should be checked out. Gl!

Its probably an eruption cyst. DS had one for a while (like 2 days) it went away when his tooth came through.

@cmarie520 I googled eruption cyst and that is what it looks like! Thanks for the advice ladies. I will call the nurse line this morning and make sure they don't think he needs to come in. My mommy nerves feel much better now.

Had an appointment this morning at the pedi and he is sending us to an ENT for further examination. She said it looks like it is a tumores cyst.

I'd call the doc. Better to get it checked out than wait a few weeks, IMO.
