Activities

My LO is so busy that even though I bought a new batch of toys, he is not entertained for very long AT ALL and then gets pissed because of it. I got so frustrated yesterday that I took out a metal mixing bowl and just handed it to him on the floor lol He played with it for 30 minutes banging it around kitch floor and spinning it. So any new acitivities any one else has come up with that they would please share with me? Beside the usual reading, peek a boo, bubbles.....

Re: Activities

  • I know how you feel. The only way I can keep my LO enertained is if I take him outside so he can look at everything. I'm screwed when it turns cold and I don't want to go outside.

  • I agree with outside! Yesterday we played "sit on the front lawn and watch cars drive by". It killed 20-30 minutes and DS was fascinated. I pointed out the different colors and also pointed at grass and trees and named them for him.

We also have gotten into going to the park. He can sit in the baby swing and loves it. We actually just got back! We also just walked around and observed other kids playing in the sandbox. I fed him too so we spent about 45-60 min there!

  • We take the batteries out of the remote control and let him push it around the floor and play with it.  It is his favorite "toy" right now.  He also likes to just sit outside on my lap and look around...we can kill a good 30 minutes that way.

Yeah for sure outside today. My Lo wants the remote SO bad too. I can't let him play with it though, my sister let one of her kids when they were little and he got a button off and she freaked he could have choked on it, so now I am too scared, He now has his own musical fisher price one LOL

  • Just an FYI I found at the store a mini plastic slinky and my LO is obsessed. He thinks it is so funny how big it gets. It is mini enough where it can't really tangle and if it does I only paid $.50 for it at Michael's lol

  • Yep, my dd loves to be outside - watch cars, go to the park and watch other kids or go on the swings.  We put water on her high chair tray and give her a washcloth and she loves to splash and play with it.  She loves scarves.  Splashing in the bathtub.  Any type of box or plastic container.
