Hi! I was actually going to ask a question similar to this. My LO is 14 months and takes 4 bottles a day. One when he gets up, another around 11 & 4 and then one before bed. I feel like he should be drinking more with his meals and not separate bottle. My goal was to wean him off his bottles by the end of summer but that hasn't happened. He'll drink juice/water from a sippy or a straw but not milk.
O is 16 months and we do straw cups now. We cut bottles out around 13 months. He gets a 10oz sippy of milk in the morning with breakfast and usually finishes it around 9am. He gets a sippy of water that he sips on throughout the day but really only drinks maybe 4oz of that (we're working on that!). Then he gets another 10oz sippy of milk with dinner. Sometimes he finishes it before bed and sometimes there are a couple of ounces left.
LO is 15 months and he gets 4 straw cups of milk. They are each 6-7 oz. he drinks 18-24oz a day. They are roughly given at 7am, 11:30, 4, 7:45pm. The two middle of the day bottles depend on how he naps. My pedi said this was perfect.
Mine has a bottle in the am for breakfast, usually one in the late afternoon/early evening, then one right before bed. At his 12 month appointment, the NP we saw said he should be completely off bottles and only on sippy cups by now. He will drink out of a sippy during a meal, but still seems to need the others. I've tried getting rid of them, but no luck. And I'm paranoid about screwing something up by not being off the bottles yet. I plan to ask his pedi (who we usually see) if she feels the same as the NP. I feel better that we aren't the only ones still dealing with bottles!
Our LO is almost 13 months will drink water all day long out of a sippy but not her milk. We still give her a 5-6oz bottle of milk when she gets up before naps and before bedtime.
Today is my DD3's birthday. She had weaned herself down to a bedtime bottle at 11 months, taking a sippy cup of formula instead. She dropped her last bottle this weekend.
