Ingredients:
- 1/4 pound of prosciutto (the better the proscuitto, the better the sauce) diced
- 2 cups of heavy whipping cream
- 1 (28oz) can crushed tomatoes (try to get organic, the taste is just that much better)
- 3/4 - 1 cup of Vodka (Very important - use cheap vodka. The more expensive vodkas DO NOT HAVE A TASTE, thus you loose the point of the Vodka sauce by using it).
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (the finer the better because parsley is always a bit pokey)
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons of white sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon of ground black pepper
- heaping 1/8 teaspoon of crushed red pepper
- 1 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese (please do not use the kraft crap)
- 1 pound farfalle
Directions
1) combine prosciutto, tomatos, vodka, parsley, garlic, salt, pepper, red pepper, and sugar in a sauce pan. Bring to boil, cover and simmer for 30 min to an hour (I like to simmer for at least an hour).
2) put on a pot of water on for the pasta. Cook pasta to directions.
3) As soon as you put the water on to boil, add the cream, bring back to a boil and then down to a simmer again (no cover this time).
4) Add the parmesan cheese and stir well right before you serve on the pasta.
