Prenatals (that aren't nauseating)

I am planning on starting back on prenatals next month but all that I have tried either make me incredibly nauseated or are the organic huge ass pills that are incredibly expensive. What have you all liked/used? Thanks! (X-posted)

Re: Prenatals (that aren't nauseating)

  • I had to take the gummies, too. The other pills that my doc gave me made me so nauseous, which was lovely since I already had horrible morning sickness. I didn't really like the texture of the gummies, but they were the only things I could keep down.

  • I take "New Chapter Perfect Prenatal", you can get them for a reasonable price on Amazon.

    Why I chose them:
    No dyes.
    - No unfermented soy.
    - No synthetic vitamins.
    - Vitamin A is 100% from beta-carotene.
    - Daily dose is split into 3 pills for better absorption and to be easier on the stomach.
    - Contains probiotics for easy digestion.
    - Not "horse-pill" sized, easy to swallow. (About the size of a Tylenol pill.)

  • I had good luck with One A Day with the Omega 3 supplement
  • I was told that I could take two Flintstones chewables a day and that was fine.  Worked like a charm, same basic stuff as taking the one dose of a prenatal, and no nausea. GL!

    CSC arrived 5/7/12

    CHC arrived 6/2/14

  • try taking them at night before bed, then the nausea won't be as bad
  • I was fine if I took them with food. I would be nauseous otherwise.
  • Rainbow light. Take them at night before bed to prevent nausea. They also have ginger to make it easy on stomach.
  • Target store brand on a full stomach were fine for me.

This and I just took them before bed so I wouldn't forget.
  • I am sensitive to vitamins too and I use a generic prescription called Taron Prex w/DHA and have had no problems.  In fact, for what it's worth, it has a stool softner built in, which was extremely helpful.  The capsules are soft gels and vanilla flavored (not strong at all, but cover up the vitamin taste), which is very helpful.  Good luck in your search.

  • I take Nature's Bounty (not Nature Made, which are easier to find) Prenatal. They are a little big but not bad and have the DHA and aren't "fishy" like some out there. And it is just one pill a day.
Kroger usually has them or CVS will order them for you if you need them to.
